"Disappointing" attendances

I think it was always going to be full and noisy tomorrow,i think it was uneccessary for him to bring it up really

Have a good time, swear at them a bit for me
It’s the first club he’s managed where fans tend not to turn up in droves. We have ~40k base fans that will always turn up, then fair weather fans and tourists. I’d have preferred him to shut up but he’s a right to ask people to turn up, probably strange to him to see so many empty seats

But he has ben here 4yrs,he should understand the fanbase by now really

You telling me Barca was full, in games other than the big boys the place was nowhere near full. Can't understand this obsession with the attendance, 39000 against a championship side in a televised fa cup match is decent in my book. Oh, Juventus average attendance 40,000

Simon Heggie needs to brief him. Something along the lines, "Fans have a lot of games to attend. We take a great following over the country. We appreciate the backing we get both home and away. Our great support is evident in our high attendances" blah blah. I am sure someone could do much better.

It does seem that it is an orchestrated approach to create tension between Pep and the fans. Actually, I'd be more definitive and say it definitely is.

Plenty of empty seats at the Camp Nou - only 51000 at last year's Copa del Rey semi final against Valencia. So I'm sure our attendance on Wednesday in a less prestigious competition will compare favourably with that.

Still not full tomorrow, looking around 6000 seats left.

Apart from middle section on Colin Bell L3 its empty & the other side not much better

I guess some might turn up last minute but dont be surprised to see reds in all 4 corners

I agree. We all knew for that game it was maximum of 45k, we won’t sell more than that for that game. Not a sleight on the fans, it’s been a dear do and people are assuming we’ll get to Wembley end of February. Of all the games, that Fulham one was the one we wouldn’t go to. I didn’t.

Just saw the attendance on Sunday ………. does anybody else think its a bit disappointing ?
It was a little I suppose. But given the circumstances against an uninspiring championship team broadcast live on BBC, and not cheap enough to fill empty seats it's, hardly surprising. Not a bad turnout, but I pay no attention to the media fueling the fire of our stadium, 'The Emptihad': /

Fuck 'em in their sneering arses.

I'm not sure he realises how expensive the wembley trips are let alone all the others in 4 comps, you guys do a fucking brilliant job following the team

Someone should say to him, look do you realise/care that fans are still on the road getting home whilst you and the players are home and tucked up in bed after evening/euro games in particular. It seems to me he has been trying to force fans to love what he loves, esp the cl,it can't be done by force or handing you guys over to the media

The club and the authorities need to realise they are close to tipping the average match goer over the edge. There are now so many games at stupid times that, fans may just, on occasions put the non football parts of their lives first. Salaries have not moved significantly up for over 10 years, many people are doing 6 day weeks to make ends meet and at the same time the number of games being played has increased. Put that together with more live games on TV and their accompanying stupid kick off times will just not allow people to attend every game as they may have done in the past. Add a bit of VAR into the mix and it's no surprise that game do not always sell out.

Barcelona is the MOST TOURISTY ground in the world. Ever. When it's not warm and not a glamour game, that place is empty and silent. Always has been.

At Barca, in his first season in the League, they averaged 27k empty seats every home match, 20k second season and 18k the third year and thats before you even look at Copa Del Rey attendances.

I agree with a lot of the problems you point out. Thing is though attendances at most premier league clubs are probably higher than they’ve ever been.
