I would love to see the club play the home leg against Madrid and take the opportunity to show our contempt of Uefa, I would refuse to play their shitty little jingle, offer the Uefa delegates the absolute bare minimum of hospitality and refuse to undertake any post match press conferences.

No doubt we would be fined for these actions but it would be great to see.
Oh I don't know a two course offering of bat soup and a medium rare pangolin roast should do it

This exactly. Can you think of any other business or vertical where investment is even frowned upon, let alone legislated against?
There are a few across Europe but they are almost entirely in the “public good” realm (transit, health care, public safety, etc.).

There aren’t really any that come to mind that are analogous to sport-related enterprises, which is basically in the larger entertainment sector, one that has no real restrictions on trade or investment.

It’s long been a fair argument that FFP is not a legal framework and that it only persisted because no European regulatory body or individual effected entity had any real incentive to challenge it given they would not have the backing of most of the organisations that support it, many of which have extensive influence (in some cases legitimate, in others less so) on the various presiding entities that would act to challenge the system.

I could be wrong, but my reading of that threat is that they wouldn’t make public the evidence, and I don’t think an appeal to CAS requires public disclosure. However, if we take the appeal further and/or mount a case against FFP itself, the evidence will have to be made public unless sealed by the court officials presiding.

The fact that they made that assertion in the first place, though, tends to make one believe they aren’t entirely confident that the evidence for their decision is sufficient and/or comprehensive within the context of statutory review. I know from a few reports about UEFA’s concerns with the Galatasaray CAS appeal there is a contingent within the organisation that don’t believe FFP would stand up to scrutiny if framed as illegal restriction of trade and investment.

I really hope this is City's desired end game i.e. take FFP down in the courts as restraint of trade/investment. It might also lead to some other clubs being able to invest (Newcastle, Everton?) and change the football landscape forever away from the "history" clubs.
