So let me get this straight. Some on here think it would have been a good idea to get one of the parasites from the media to sit that interview?

Sometimes I worry for the sanity of certain individuals.

Interview was essentially echoing the statement. It’s nice to put a face to the words so fair fucks to the club on this one.

Could be. I think that even if CAS rule we are not guilty in substance, the media and many others will still make out we are guilty of financial doping and the like and seek to denigrate our achievements, and UEFA know that.

I think winning at CAS on what lay people see as a technicality doesn’t remove the tainted or cheat tag from rival fans. If we win that way then the cloud over our achievements, at least in the media, will remain. Still I’d take that now and be done with this nonsense.

In this entire saga it actually makes me very sad to see how so many people are entirely prepared to ignore a fundamental principle of our justice system, namely 'in dubio pro reo'. No matter which football club you support it should be obvious that there is much doubt related to all of the issues and questions treated by the prosecution (UEFA) here. And if there is doubt the expected and normal consequence in our 'western' justice system is or should be 'no sentence'. Simple really. But here we have the exact opposite, a draconian sentence. Everyone with an interest in how the society works really should have problems with this. However, the way our media works, and the way social media are used as echo chambers for certain messages has led to the situation where so many (most?) people want blood anyway. Why is it so difficult to see that this is a business war between big corporations, using dirty tricks and playing outside of the normal principles of law and justice? I would be against this happening to any other club, even the damned Rags. It is just wrong. Propaganda works unfortunately!

I stumbled on it earlier. I won't link it either for the same reason but in summary he backs UEFA, says we're owned by a nation state, that we (club AND fans) have a victim mentality and are a fabricated club with no history.

I kind of wished I bought newspapers so I could stop but haven't for many years.

I stopped buying any paper (especially the Sun or Mirror) after they pictures they used and sanctioned of our player Marc-Vivien Foe

Only on Bluemoon could we go from discussing one of the most important issues in our history, to who should be asking the questions in a morale boosting interview with one of City's main men. Funny but ridiculous at the same time. It was bang on.
As said before, it shows why we should be hearing more from our CEO on everything MCFC.

A class act.

Man City are a Fwankenstein club and it's not my fault I was a wubbish owner of Cwystal Pawace. People say I don't like Awabs but that's just not twue.
Pwus I wook like mickey flanagan goin through a mid life cwisis.

Afraid he isn't - very amateurish by City to use an in-house journalist - if you don't believe this then just research credibility of source. Even in adverts washing up companies used to put actors in white overalls just for this - it works at an almost subliminal level . Same reason toothpaste ads feature actual dentists and not actors - it all adds to the credibility ... A neutral journalist would have been far better and it would have looked more like a proper interview than a speech or statement or just a friendly Q&A session between 2 buddies.

It's an interview, more a statement put out by the club to counteract the ridiculous biased attacks by the media. It is open to all and sundry and headlining on mail sport now. Why the fuck would we give those jackals the time of day? They have nailed their colours firmly to the UEFA mast with very few exceptions so we have no hearts and minds to win here, just reassuring the fans and stating our stance.

The one's wanting an outside journalist are wums mate.

What kind of city fan grumbles and makes a big fuss whether we've done the interview in house? I tell what kind, the kind who masquerade as city fans when really they want to wind us real fans up.

These 'fans' who are complaining about it are sticking out like sore thumbs, in light of what UEFA have thrown at us soriano has thrown the shit back at them.

These fans complaining it was Chris Bailey instead of nick harris need fucking off from this forum.

I would think if we exhaust all avenues and we are still banned that he might have to go unless our owner still has a reason to trust him, bold move this interview

That might depend on who advised who and / or took decisions about sponsorship payments but a two year ban could put him in a very difficult position.

Spot on.

It's fantastic that Ferran has come out and spoken to the fans.

And it's the right thing to do, so that Pep is not left on the hook by the press for things he has nothing to do with.

The time for interviews with the press will be after the legal process is over.

It isn't the sanity that is questionable but their affinity because I doubt a fair few of them support those in sky blue.

Been trying to keep up with this thread but with work it's been difficult.

Can anyone tell me exactly how much money are we talking about in this alleged FFP offence?

As blues were all getting it from clowns that don't know what they're talking about. A 'need to know' list could be very useful in assisting blues against the general gobshites at work etc. Knowing David Conn is a prick for example isnt really useful but we have to trawl through post after post about him being a prick looking for information that we're all more interested in.
