Read the piece in NYT about this case. Leterme against the wishes of half his chamber found psg 'not guilty'.AC Chairman could not believe it and tried to reopen, but was out of time. The astonishing thing is how Leterme came up with the numbers that showed Kheaifi's club was ok. Read NYT.

Another astonishing thing is how he kept his job as head of the IC.

That worries me a little because I’m of the opinion that could be an indication of a possible agreement somewhere down the line with UEFA. Personally, I’d rather we fight this to the end and if after a proper, legal, transparent process has been followed City are guilty then ‘fair dos’, let’s accept our punishment whatever that may be. If however City are proved innocent then UEFA will be shown to be corrupt and may well collapse, ending their cosy relationships. If we do a deal we become part of football governance’s problem, part of an elite who don’t give a stuff about ambition etc. PSG, CFC and others have taken a path of cosying up - we should fight this to the end, whatever the cost to UEFA. Our reputation is in the gutter already, so if we do a deal at any point the abuse heading our way will increase significantly because we will be perceived as ‘buying a place at the top table’ as well as buying success and, presumably accused of bribing UEFA to avoid a fight. All or nothing for me if we want football to be fair, transparent and open to all.
Surely our owner knew they did not want him from the very moment he tried to buy City. Whats different now that its got to an end game of sorts regarding its "barrier to entry" vehicle FFP?
Perhaps he thought we could change things from within, perhaps he thought once he overcame their cartel he would be made welcome, maybe the PSG model of gaining top table position is not open to him either by his choice or theirs?

In short a corrupt organisation prefers corrupt members not newcomers who do not need corruption to be financially successful.

true but to those of us who are getting sick of football more evidence of how corrupt and bent the whole game is. Right from the top with the bent corrupt money obsessed fuckers in the main governing organisations, to the players who dive around as though their leg has been amputated to gain any slight advantage they can in the game.

Football has become a game of “ what can we get away “ from top to bottom

It's definitely a good thing, but it's Blatter-era FIFA stuff. Valcke was one of the FIFA heads and got fired when Blatter was.

There's no direct link to City/UEFA, but it surely must mean that Khelaifi is at least suspended from UEFA Exec.

Marvin, I agree that this doesn't impact on our appeal to CAS but the wider issue is that it calls into question UEFA's integrity and impartiality
Question to UEFA: you say the IC and AC are independent. Did any member of your Exec lobby any member of these chambers to punish CITY?

ECA is essentially the creature of Bayern and Cefarin is their installed stooge at UEFA. Al-Khelaifi is decorative only and it cost Qatar dear to get him in both.
Now he's being thrown under the bus.
The key to understanding all this is that the cartel clubs, led by Rummenigge, regard both UEFA & FIFA (through their competitions) as dangerous commercial rivals who they need to control or destroy along with the likes of City, PSG or any other invading club threatening their profits or dominance.

How did he get the ECA position on UEFA's board? I assume it was a vote from ECA members, are the voting results available for public consumption?

Yes, and it provides additional “propaganda” material should it be needed. That time might come if and when we (hopefully) pursue U€FA on FFP itself.

From the article above.....

"A press release from the Swiss Attorney General's office read: 'The OAG has charged Valcke with accepting bribes, several counts of aggravated criminal mismanagement and falsification of documents.

'The facts in this indictment are no longer characterised as fraud. Al-Khelaifi and the third accused are charged with indicting Valcke to commit aggravated criminal mismanagement. The third accused is also charged with bribery.'

Valcke was banned from football for 12 years back in 2016 after being found guilty of misconduct over the sale of World Cup tickets, abuse of travel expenses, attempting to sell TV rights below their market value and destruction of evidence.

He was the right hand man to disgraced former FIFA president Sepp Blatter for eight years."

Now my addition might not be the best but 2016 plus 12 is 2028! HTF is this guy in a job anyway related to football.

He isn't.
It's the charges from that period.

I think this could have implications for our good friend and UEFA 'prosecution, judge and jury' Yves Leterme, who is clearly very close to Nasser al-Khelaifi.

His conduct in relation to the outrageous over-valuation of PSG's sponsorships in 2018 was questionable at best - corrupt, in reality, when you consider Leterme's links with Bayern Munich through his position at Volkswagen, who sponsor Bayern via Audi - a club who miraculously during the summer of the same year removed Lufthansa as their partner after 17 years, replacing them with a lucrative shirt sponsorship courtesy of Qatar Airways. What a serendipitous coincidence that was, which definitely couldn't be coloured as payment for his outrageous leniency in helping PSG balance the Neymar and Mbappe transfers on their books.

Decent article about Leterme's conduct in relation to the PSG sponsorship valuations here, for those who haven't already read it:

Hopefully this guy is next. All roads lead back to Bayern Munich ,VW, Audi and Adidas

I think it means a great deal, I'm suspect that there's quite a battle going on between Qatar and Abu Dhabi over European football. Nonetheless this is one less enemy. Now just Liverpool, barcelona, bayern, Manchester United, Juventus, Real Madrid owners to fight

I think back to the (united director) Greg Dyke scandal over the £16k Rolex watch he received when Brazil got the world cup claiming that gifts like tgat were normal practice.

If anyone thinks that Al-Khelaifi is the only senior figure at FIFA and UEFA up to their necks in this, they are truly naive.

Leterme: Ah, Monsieur Al-Kheleifi, there eez a small problem with the sponsorship figures you quote, it is far too high and I cannot let you pass ffp.

Al-Kheleifi: Will this envelope stuffed with euros help?

Leterme: Oui Monsieur. That will definitely help. Welcome to the club.

Leterme: Ah, Monsieur Manchester City, we have stolen emails that imply that you are guilty of breaching ffp.

Man City: Will this 200 page comprehensive dossier providing irrefutable proof of our innocence help.

Leterme: Alas Monsieur, non, that will not help. Do you maybe have something else for me?
