Suspect this is a coincidence but the fact that an ECA appointed delegate to UEFA and president of a rival club who are laughably getting away with ridiculous sponsorship deals is facing criminal charges relating to football business does nothing to harm City's case that they have been treated prejudicially. The stink is worse than a Parisian sewer.
Exactly . They cannot claim impartiality and cannot claim our investigation and subsequent charges aren’t anything but a self serving witch-hunt by those involved.
1 down..

That worries me a little because I’m of the opinion that could be an indication of a possible agreement somewhere down the line with UEFA. Personally, I’d rather we fight this to the end and if after a proper, legal, transparent process has been followed City are guilty then ‘fair dos’, let’s accept our punishment whatever that may be. If however City are proved innocent then UEFA will be shown to be corrupt and may well collapse, ending their cosy relationships. If we do a deal we become part of football governance’s problem, part of an elite who don’t give a stuff about ambition etc. PSG, CFC and others have taken a path of cosying up - we should fight this to the end, whatever the cost to UEFA. Our reputation is in the gutter already, so if we do a deal at any point the abuse heading our way will increase significantly because we will be perceived as ‘buying a place at the top table’ as well as buying success and, presumably accused of bribing UEFA to avoid a fight. All or nothing for me if we want football to be fair, transparent and open to all.
That's about the only option left that will restore my faith in football. I don't want us to be like the rest. I want better.
Anything other whether we win or lose, leaves me totally underwhelmed with the modern game.
This and possibly this alone would give me renewed respect and interest.

I do.

City are going to court. I don't care who you are and what the case is. The defendant always expresses total vehemence in his case. The only interesting aspect were things he didn't need to say such as the clear distinction drawn between UEFA as a whole and elements in UEFA who are hostile to City.

I disagree. A club statement denying the allegations would be expected. But for Ferran to speak the words in front of camera it is a much stronger denial and wouldn't be done if the club felt there was a chance they could be found guilty. Look at Prince Andrew. He felt an interview would be the best way to clear his name. A generic statement of denial from behind close doors would be scrutinised by the public. In hindsight he shouldn't have done that interview because it showed to most that he is guilty!

Whilst a premeditated interview from the club, it was clear Ferran has no concerns. That is much more reassuring than a statement published by the website. There was no sweat on his brow, and unlike Prince Andrew I'm sure he is capable of sweating.

cant someone put this in simple terms please !! if I am right UEFA wanted the charges dropped but the authorities have ignored UEFA and nicked him ?

Yeap but FIFA not UEFA Squeaky bum time at FIFA due to implications of alleged bribery during the World Cup selection process

Wasn’t astonishing at all, UEFA reopened a case outside its own 10 day deadline and CAS agreed.
The judge only wanted it reopened because of Leterme’s dodgy behaviour. 7m sponsorship deal independent valuation ignored and a figure of 100m arrived at to ensure that PSGs losses were within the 3-year limit. Al-Khelaifi 100% in bed with Leterme, the guy investigating us. It’s not a stretch to say that he probably bribed Leterme (though we can’t prove it). And we’re to then believe it’s a fair process!? I can’t wait for the day this all comes out. It will happen.

Read the piece in NYT about this case. Leterme against the wishes of half his chamber found psg 'not guilty'.AC Chairman could not believe it and tried to reopen, but was out of time. The astonishing thing is how Leterme came up with the numbers that showed Kheaifi's club was ok. Read NYT.

...nothing to see here...because this individual managed to get his name on the uefafa guest list...

From the article above.....

"A press release from the Swiss Attorney General's office read: 'The OAG has charged Valcke with accepting bribes, several counts of aggravated criminal mismanagement and falsification of documents.

'The facts in this indictment are no longer characterised as fraud. Al-Khelaifi and the third accused are charged with indicting Valcke to commit aggravated criminal mismanagement. The third accused is also charged with bribery.'

Valcke was banned from football for 12 years back in 2016 after being found guilty of misconduct over the sale of World Cup tickets, abuse of travel expenses, attempting to sell TV rights below their market value and destruction of evidence.

He was the right hand man to disgraced former FIFA president Sepp Blatter for eight years."

Now my addition might not be the best but 2016 plus 12 is 2028! HTF is this guy in a job anyway related to football.

Just think fifa will bat it away as a past regime but what it does show is the type of characters uefa have on their committees.

How is it relevant? The argument is about whether Football Leaks (and any additional evidence we don't know about) show that City broke the FFP rules. There's an argument about the process. Obliquely it can be used but I think your grasping at straws. A panel of judges will want evidence that has a direct bearing on our hearing at UEFA and the allegations made by Football Leaks.
Oh, Marvin. Use your head.

While awkward for UEFA as he's on their exec - I think as the rep for the European Club Association - is this anything to do with actions for UEFA or PSG?
ECA is essentially the creature of Bayern and Cefarin is their installed stooge at UEFA. Al-Khelaifi is decorative only and it cost Qatar dear to get him in both.
Now he's being thrown under the bus.
The key to understanding all this is that the cartel clubs, led by Rummenigge, regard both UEFA & FIFA (through their competitions) as dangerous commercial rivals who they need to control or destroy along with the likes of City, PSG or any other invading club threatening their profits or dominance.

UEFA slowly unravelling before our very eyes.

It wouldn't surprise me if they're on the phone to soriano right now saying all charges dropped and grovelling to us because I truly believe we've got similar evidence to what has just been exposed at PSG.

And our reply will, would and should be fuck you.
