The Olympics being the headliner. Already seen football and Rugby matched 'postponed'. It's arguably the worst year in history to have a Europe-wide Euros as well.

Having said all that, I'll take them cancelling the rest of the Premier League season. I mean we have to take our sanity.... I mean, safety seriously right?

Or all games have to be played behind closed doors, imagine doing a lap of honour round an empty stadium...scouse twats.

I am due to go away in Mid April, I think you have to keep an eye on whats going on but even by then it will have started to fizzle out.....or it will have got serious and planes wont be flying and we will all be on lock down thus having no choice in the matter.

Sorry to say I think the latter scenario is becoming a little more likely than perhaps most think. Hopefully not but I am mildly concerned.

That's the same with me, booked to fly to Spain but starting to wonder....

That’s fair enough, then.

And Cuba have some of the best preventive and palliative care in the world, but are generally woefully ill-equipped to manage an epidemic, much less a severe one.

Even far more ‘developed’ systems like ours — or those in the US, France, Germany, Japan — will struggle and breakdown fairly quickly if things really kick off, given the current severe case rates of 15-30%.

And the CFR for any disease goes up considerably when healthcare and outbreak response systems are inadequate or dysfunctional, meaning China is, in some ways, likely marginally “best case” scenario as far as containment and mitigation.

I think we’ll know much more about what to expect based on how things progress in Japan, South Korea, Italy, and Iran, as it will give us a varied ‘baseline’ for R0, severe case rate, and CFR across varying healthcare systems and responses.
 
One of my concerns is the shutting down of society it'll cause quiet a few deaths in itself, I give it a week and the people who can afford to hoard will start hoarding protecting themselves if imports dry up and shops struggle (Even if they're open).

Best way to avoid death is to not get sick.

Wash and sanitise hands as if you’ve got OCD.
