In the 1950's I used to try and recite the Team to distract me when I was at the Dentist being tortured by some ex nazi camp guard at Hall Lane Baguley. Trautmann ,Cliff Sears, Colin Barlow,Bobby Johnstone I recall. Peter Dobing lived on Blackcarr Road, Baguley where I grew up .. Malcolm Alison moved in the next road in the 60's. Every kid on my road used to jump in a furniture van and go to Maine Rd, circa 1958-

1956 for me. Week before the season opened the first team always played the reserves at Maine Road. Sky blue vMaroon. Sat in main stand aged seven.

League cup 3rd round 71/72 season v Bolton burnden park lost 3-0 packed to capacity remember getting the bus afterwards very scary for a nipper into Manchester
I remember going to this one, the City fans forced the gate down so loads got in free, I remember loads of fight outside the pubs from the station.

Was with dad only young but it was fisticuffs all night, even on the bus

Anyone remember the song supporters sang in 50s 'Bless em all' the long and the short and the tall,

Boxing day 1968 lost 1-3 to Everton but remember it like yesterday. Threw the ball back to Glynn Pardoe for a throw and was hooked from that day

Beat me to it...

... pretty sure the first half was the quietest half of football City ever played.

No wonder they never scheduled any more games at 11:15AM on a Sunday.

It was for the Asian tv market as we had Sun Jihai and they had, I think, a South Korean player

Think it might have been a worldwide record tv audience for a pl match at the time

They had Li Tie in midfield. He's the manager of the Chinese national team these days, and it was definitely reported as the biggest worldwide audience at the time.

My Dad started taking me to the reserves around 1955.
I might have done a first team but cant remember.
Sep 1958. beaten 3-1 at home by Everton. Bobby Collins first game I think and he destroyed us.
August 3rd 1958 Preston at home 1-1-. If Tom Finney played Centre forward for them and scored I remember this one, bits of it anyway.
