In Pep World the only Derby that matters is Real Madrid v Barcelona.

Supported by his tinkering,and team selections in these games.He would never put out a weakened side out for El Classico,he would be lynched.

I also feel like Pep is the main reason we have lost 3 derbies this Season.We play our strongest side today we win,even without KDB.

We beat Real Madrid all will be forgiven.

Reading posts from some Blues,accusing other blues off being small minded for being arsed about losing to our neighbors is astonishing.

There is one game in the calendar that always,always, matters...............The Derby.

No way should any Blue not be hurting tonight after losing to those fuckers.

Maybe the fact our fan base is global. is the reason some just dont get it .

No way does any Manc born City fan come out with that kind of stuff.

Partly correct, but it's so important that those tossers do not finish in the top 4. Another year with no CL football will see them continue on a downward spiral, which just has to continue so we can get further ahead of them.

Beating them today would have helped us keep the bastards out. Plus it's a derby. I want us to beat these cünts every time!

You left Foden isolated and played everything down the left to Sterlnig who was shit.
When you actually started to give Foden a game we went there..

Sterling has never been the same since the Gomez incident.
If Real want to pay 180 million for him then bite their hand off.
On current form we should send him back to Liverpool on a free.
Another atrocious derby performance from him.

What did we expect? The guy was our most important player and the glue of the side.

The decision to take him out and rob that position of the number of attributes he brought, which make the entire team function, without a similar replacement was folly. Was never ever going to work - I don't care what Gundogan did at the back end of last season, it didn't prove anything.

The Madrid game seriously matters to Pep.Not just because it is the Champions League.

Pep being Catatonian,and Madrid being Spanish.

To him this is his own personal Derby.

Catalonia getting one over Spain.

He will have us well up for this.................i hope.

I completely agree. I am from Hulme and as a kid in the 70s THE game you could not lose was the derby. Today several of our players looked like they weren't that bothered. It worries me how soft we are. I can see the big picture etc but we do seem to gift these twats a few easy wins.
 
Whilst pep should shoulder blame, the players hung him out to dry by being utter shit.

the blame needs to be shared, but then how do you go from beating Real Madrid at their own ground to losing to 6th place united in a matter of weeks? Doesn’t add up.
 
Very similar to the United - Liverpool game kick and rush v Possession but the mickeys spawned a late leveller and we had Raz miss a sitter
 
Game tonight meant as much to us as Vienna did to Midge Ure in the 80's. All about lifting trophies this season...league was gone in December. 1 in the bag and 2 to go. 2-0 in their cup final, we won the important derby and have that trophy in the cabinet like we'll win the next important derby in the fa cup semi/final. 70% possession at the swamp and only 2 mistakes by us cost us the game....they're light years behind us.

Real just play like United and sit back . They had more shots than us. Let City come on to you and there you have a recipe for success . It's easy . Just play defensively and hit City on the break and you will have a great chance to win.
Now if we had debruyne to thread the accurate pass then me may have penetrated more and got the goals we so desperately needed with all that possession but when you don't have the cutting edge with huge possession you just can't hope to succeed .
Pep rarely can play a non possession type game . It's not in him. He has to control possession. It's his main thought as he builds his team. To do it though you have to be able to defend and we can't do that this season. It doesn't take a high IQ to work this all out . Sit back against City and hopefully your good attackers will reap some reward. Look at the Palace game at the Etihad. Real will surely figure it all out but they may not want to play like united . That may well be their downfall if they don't . It's dangerous to give away possession because psychologically it just goes against the grain but when you're a weak time like united you know that it's worked 3 times now in one season . Tactics often decide games and Pephas failed miserably herein this game .
More cutting edge against Real and we win with that type possession provided Laporte is back and our guns are firing but we will concede at least one goal if he's not because we can't defend even with huge possession.

I was only a Kid so my memory might be a bit off.

I think it was against west Brom , i think we put 6 past them that day,i could be wrong.The Green and Gold away stuck in my mind..

Maybe one of you old timers has a better memory. :-)

Yes they are but we must use that possession with a killer instinct. No use in having it if we cannot score. He has to know that by playing the same possession type football has lost him 3 derbys . He's not winning the tactical battle because he's so stubborn about possession . It's an obsession in my view. Ok well if you want possession then please make doubly sure you have the players on the pitch who can hurt the opposition . At least give your players a platform with a cutting edge attacking formation! At least we would have had a chance for a draw. But Pep doesn't do those. It's either a win or a loss. Pathetic. I love him but his weakness is there for all to see. Real are watching how united did this to us 3 times . Whether they change their tactics remains to be seen but we just have to be able to turn that possession into goals which we didn't do against weak opposition.

You can't take one game to form that opinion. Generally speaking we are way ahead and that was reflected today in the overall performance: in that Pep clearly wasn't that arsed about it. He has bigger fish to fry.

Never going to appease the fans but that's how he sees it.

Zin and sterling = shite
Cancelo and Foden = shite
Gundogan and Rodri = shite

These combos don’t work.
All are subs at best.
Sterling is the most overrated player I’ve ever seen at city. If he came from Manchester and through the youth, he’d be released and no fucker would bat an eye.
Ederson had one today and that’s all.
Pep had one today. “So so pleased”.

Sterling has been fuckin dreadfull for last 6mths or so & should be nowhere near our starting 11 on form, but to say he’s the “most overated player” is a bit harsh mate,surely you remember “the next alan shearer”? #lee bradbury :-/
