COVID-19 — Coronavirus

Just for perspective and for the idiots who think it's comparable to flu, Italy had its worst flu season for 14 years a couple of years ago. 4 million got it and 30 (yes thirty) died. For Covid-19 there are 10,149 cases and 631 deaths so far, and it's increasing every day. People need to get a grip with their stupid comparisons.

That’s nothing, the real killer is stairs.

12,000 a year die in the US. Why isn’t anyone thinking about that?

Another 168 deaths in Italy and another 977 cases. Not looking good
Well the increase in cases is lower than yesterday's and the increase in deaths is higher. Useless to judge on the basis of one day, but theoretically it's either that a bunch of people already in hospitals have died at the same time or that we're testing only the more serious cases. I hope it's just the former but it's probably the latter or both. I hope it doesn't spread a lot in the South because up here we have a good health service and hospital quality but down there they don't and it could be a lot worse.

I should be studying right now but I keep getting distracted by the news these days lol.

Same as WW2, looks like the only thing protecting us is the English channel atm.

Christ Italy are number two in the world charts.

what is going on???

Massive jump in cases and deaths in one day.

that’s a bloody good question mate! I’ve got quite a bit of family in the laundry region and they are starting to panic. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head haven’t gone there many times in the past is that the Italians are far more touchy-feely people than the Northern Europeans. It was always one thing I used to dread going there was the amount of people that you had to kiss, not much science behind that at all though...

True, the good old mezzogiorno. I remember studying it in university. Almost like two distinct countries, economically. Or it was a long time ago when I was your age.

I noticed yesterday that I saw a lot of people spitting throughout the day. So today I decided to count them and lost count.

Unbelievable that people think it’s alright to just cough up a load of Belgian custard and fire it out on the floor or up walls willy nilly when this thing’s is going about.

Society is full of filthy cunts isn’t it?

Lol that made me smile. But anyway it has mostly spread here in the North where we are grumpy and aloof according to Southerners, so... it would probably worsen our grumpiness.
