I think the govt plan is kicking the can down the road and denial until the Easter Hols give a large chunk of the population time off school/work so the economy can chug on.

I concur bud, we've got a fight on our hands when little John and Jane's rights to play out and mingle are in direct conflict with an illness that can kill people, we will soon find out how selfish our society has become.

I fear very selfish, just look at the stockpiling.

Hasn’t come to that yet. But there are discussions arising about it already.
We don’t even have a government at the moment and this has started to make the two main parties speed up talks. Cross party cooperation is urgently required.

They should hold their talks in Lombardy or Wuhan.

I'm expecting more drastic action to be announced tomorrow morning. Followed by the budget in the afternoon to lay out plans to help the financial implications of the actions taken. Hopefully stopping panicking - but my guess is the press will still sensationalise it and the majority of people will descend even further into panic mode.
Then again , my guess might turn out to be bollocks ;-)

im not saying shes not ill but hey what a stunt when she pulls from her sick bed and says yes i was bad for a couple of days but now im on top of the world, 'it was nothing to worry about' if you for minute dont think thats possible then you seriously need to take stock, reel yourself in and look at whats been going on, Borris shaking hands its all to gain the publics trust and if im wrong explain why borris was shaking hands with covid 19 victims and dont tell me its because he's an honnest and caring guy

China,Italy, Iran, South Korea are the 4 countries with the most cases. No of new cases in all 4 countries is falling although in Italy we've only had the 1 day of falling numbers so that it's too soon to call the worst over there. Do we believe the Iranian figures? I would have thought that they would have had huge problems in turning it around. I suspect though the trend is correct. They have a lot of enemies and a lot of spies in their country. if it was in mayhem they'd let you know.

There are some countries who may yet do an Italy.

Spain, and Denmark, Norway, Sweden are going up fast.

I think people lambasting our government would be well advised to hang fire just a bit. Let's see how this pans out. So far we are not Italy or Spain or France. If it turns out we are worse than everywhere else then fair enough ask questions and demand answers. But if it turns out we are no worse or even better than most places because the Government did the right thing at the right time, then they will deserve credit. At the moment people are understandably scared and the bottom line is no-one knows how best to respond to this, even the scientists don't agree, lets not assume everyone has a hidden agenda.

Japan had 59 new cases of coronavirus infection on Tuesday, the biggest one-day rise since the start of the outbreak, public broadcaster NHK said.

Total infections have risen to 1,278 cases, including 696 from the Diamond Princess cruise ship and 14 returnees on charter flights from China, according to NHK data.

One new infection was reported early on Wednesday, in the western prefecture of Hyogo.

Japan has now seen 19 deaths from the virus, including seven from the cruise ship, the public broadcaster said.

I don't see any containment measures being taken in the UK, except wash your hands.

TBH if you take away the cruise ship there not bad figures,,i think eyes on the United States this week as its going to rocket over there,now if there is one country where the shit hits the fan with social disorder this is the place

They are pretty solid making sure the AMA subject is who they say they are. Then again,it will depend on how good the moderators/admins are on that subreddit i suppose.
