He can’t make it any clearer. Yet our nation thinks it will go away when the sun peeks through the clouds. No need to do anything. You get the feeling this guy is telling every country to get their act together as this is fuckin serious. He ain't pulling any punches.
This is from the head of the World health organisation.
The coronavirus outbreak has now been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO).Where are you seeing the data? Thought they were holding their daily briefing at 5pm GMT.
If you can't afford it, you generally can't access it.How is access difficult?
The coronavirus outbreak has now been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
More than 4,300 people have died globally after contracting COVID-19, the prevalent strain of coronavirus, and there have been over 121,500 confirmed infections.
There have been more than 3,000 deaths in China, the epicentre of the outbreak.
And in Italy, the second worst affected country worldwide, the number of dead in the most severely hit region of Lombardy has reportedly risen from 468 to 617 in a day
Panic buying is one of those things where there are enough irrational people that it makes the irrational thing rational. If you don't panic buy then when you want to buy something normally, it's no longer available. But by making that now sensible decision to stock up, you become one of the idiots contributing to the problem. If you thought panic buying was ridiculous before hand wait until you see the shops this evening, I bet they'll be hammered.
As I say, the cases just rose from 3 new cases on each of the last two days, to 238 new cases today.I have noticed that in hotter countries the growth has certainly been lower. Singapore was once near the top of the list but is now below most European countries. Thailand a week or two ago had about the same number as the UK but hasn't grown at anything like the same rate. There aren't many countries with presently high temperatures near the top of the table, so it may well help reduce the rate of transmission.
In a nutshell, as unwell as I am it's even making me feel the need to venture out tonight to pick up a few essentials. Which wouldn't be smart as I have some sort of flu (probably not the virus but who knows).Panic buying is one of those things where there are enough irrational people that it makes the irrational thing rational. They might be yeah. They just announced it on Sky News as if it were breaking. Let’s see what comes out at 5pmWeren't they yesterdays figures?
Time to start taking Japanese toilet breaks. Get the shower on your arse. It's a pandemic unless it's the US and UK, then it's just a minnor occurance and not a worry.
Unless you're short on bog roll

And there is one of the issues that exists with controlling spread in an non-authoritarian nation and why we will never be able to take the same measures as China. In a nutshell, as unwell as I am it's even making me feel the need to venture out tonight to pick up a few essentials. I read all the exchanges you were involved in today while I was on a train journey, I can only say now they must have their head in their hands. If only everyone on this forum would listen.
Blocking them from Italy would be a start!Looking like Spain’s going to be like Italy within a week. It would seem logical to block flights from there to buy us some time.
