For anyone still wondering if the “Summer Heat” will help, Qatar had 238 new cases today (up from 24 in total yesterday).

The temperature is a steady 28 degrees today and 21 now at 7pm.

Italy's numbers will be very interesting any moment. I am expecting another 200 dead - anything less will be a bonus - but *hopefully* some slowing the rate of increase of new infections.

If this thing explodes in USA and it's a matter of time probably, there's going to be some fire. Their health system is awful, they are barely doing any tests, sht gonna hit the fan there big time.

And no central health body to report to.

People need to eat and buy supplies, they do not *need* to collect together in mass numbers for several hours in the name of fun. A certain amount of risk is necessary and acceptable. I'm aware that people rely on income from these events too, but what's more important, money or life?

I’m passed caring what some people think about hyping it up. This is gonna be a complete disaster and some are sleep walking right into it.

Listening is one thing but apart from washing your hands and if feeling unwell stay in, what are you supposed to do.

We still have to go to work, travel, shop etc.

So all this 'I told you so' is not really helping

Apparently they’ve only tested 5000 people so far!

Sadly, I predicted they would hit 1,000+ dead by close of play on the 12th and that prediction looks to be spot on.

My MUCH more worrying projection (not a prediction, because I hope to god their changes will have an impact) but carrying on at this rate the projection is 10,000 dead by March 19th/20th.

I don’t think we will make it beyond the weekend before serious decisions are made about schools, universities, sporting events etc

Been to a head teachers meeting today for my area and it’s being planned that schools will close two weeks before the Easter holidays so effectively a 4 week break

That may be brought forward now it's been upped to a pandemic, I mean what does shutting it next Friday two weeks early achieve, they'll still be in school all this week and next week.

Tbh I guess it's a big decision, my daughter has her Sats coming up which I guess will be effected. I'll gladly sacrifice that atm just to try and keep a lid on this virus.
