The US president said the sanctions will come into effect from midnight - but will not apply to flights from the UK.


He blamed the European Union for not acting quickly enough to address the outbreak of the virus and said US clusters were "seeded" by European travellers.

The president said the US would monitor the situation to determine if travel could be reopened earlier.

Mr Trump said "we are marshalling the full power" of the government and private sector to protect the American people

Definitely a time to avoid Heathrow if it’s going to be even busier than usual.

A Europe wide travel ban is dumb, especially if you can fly from Belfast and not Dublin. A ban on cargo (is this right?) is just going to tank the markets even further.

The UK being exempt won’t last until Friday as we start shuttering parts of the economy unless Trump still thinks no one in the UK has it. Assuming Trump thinks that is.

Ok there are no trade restrictions just people. Seems Trump got himself confused. It’s likely to extend both ways I guess and leaving a gateway through the UK is still odd. Not that people will be travelling much from either the US or Europe anyway over the next month or so.

This will have huge implications for the aviation industry.

These are you questions:

No there were lots of roads and tracks.

2) Was there no other way to get to Sheffield?

Loads of different ways to get to Sheffield.

3) Why did their actions stop the plague spreading north?

The Plague wasn’t “spreading” per say from village to village. They were unlucky that a package sent to one villager from London contained infected fleas. Their actions meant that no one already infected passed it on outside their village which would have spread it around the north.
