Newsnight just announced an emergency meeting of the premier league management about the cancellation of the league. Lineker says cancel it, not postpone.

And this is because they literally had no containment precautions in play.

Let's be clear here, the issue isnt one of numbers who will get the virus, there WILL be an awful lot. The issue is how FAST those people catch it. If the pick up rate can be slowed, it gives the health authorities chance to match the illness with resources. If the numbers are too large, the system is swamped, and more people die as a result.

If you take as Gospel the 1%(ish) fatality rate and multiply the deaths by one hundred, that gives you a rough idea of infections a couple of weeks ago. Then double that twice and you get the current figure (probably)

The DFL and DFB are considering ending the Bundesliga season after this weekend, according to the Express. No trophy would be awarded and no relegation would take place. Instead, the Bundesliga would be expanded to 22 teams for 2020-21 with the top four teams from the second tier

They have estimated that around 10000 have it in the uk. It's just that they haven't been able to test everyone who have symptoms
