I think under the circumstances, and providing all clubs knew this at the beginning of the season, then I wouldn't see that as an issue

The key part of my comment was the bit where I said ‘whenever that is’. That means when it’s safe to do so and as it isn’t currently then the league must be suspended.

Void it all, if Liverpool weren’t so far ahead I reckon they’d stop it tomorrow but there is huge pressure to get them over the line, they are quite rightly going to be pissed off but what if we were at war, no one would care and effectively this is the same.

That would seem the best solution to me. Season still gets to finish - and clubs get a chance to pick up some revenue streams in the summer. The only tournament impacted by moving Euro 2020 to next year is the new World Club Championship - that could either be delayed or carry on without players competing in Euro Championships. If a club is seriously impacted by that they can loan players for tournament.

When would you then start the new season? It wouldn’t be too bad if there were only a couple of games left but there are still lots and this is going to last weeks and weeks yet.

I wasn’t taking it as one but I was just reiterating that I think completing the season if possible is probably the right thing to do. If the Euros are postponed then there ‘might’ be a window to do it but only if it is safe to do so.

The odds are probably against any more games being played though.

Yes that means Liverpool will be champions but so what? Would it really feel better if the whole season was scrapped?

You have to take the rough with the smooth and the fact is our league campaign has been very rough so it’s not a case of us being denied the chance to be champions.

At this stage it's nothing to do with football, rivalries, who wins what.
It's crazy not to suspend all major events now. It's very harsh on Liverpool in particular, but it's not just about them. If it was us I'd be gutted.
But there are all the other leagues too, besides the PL.
This should be a decision for the good of the national health.

I can't see any other decision, other than suspending the leagues. If it get's as bad as some predict, then it will be cancelled.
The euros will be gone too.
This is bigger than football.
