Shits getting real here now. After all chinese restaurants closed a few days ago all bars and restaurants are now being advised to do the same from midnight tonight.

The death rates are very revealing because they are quite unamiguous. Almost certainly accurate, not subject to misinterpretation or speculation, just cold hard figures. That's why i was so alarmed by Italy's spiralling death rates and where they were headed when I looked at it on Monday. Using Sunday's data, they had 233 dead, and yet it was obvious that would hit 1,000+ by yesterday, which it duly did.

I will offer a crumb here.

People here now who think they may have this are pretty much being told now not to trouble the medical profession unless they become seriously ill. This will make any figures of infections very difficult to estimate with much accuracy. Clearly then as now those figures will be very low indeed. This does maybe suggest that the mortality rate will be considerably lower than the 5/7% horror stories.

Many sectors and industries will feel this massively. Rightly or wrongly there is mass panic and the hospitality/aviation industries will feel this for a long long time.

Small to medium size independent business will need some central support.

Good time to invest in some shares though!

I work in a call centre and they're talking about assigning PC's to people and letting them work from home. If they had to close for a fortnight it would bankrupt the firm without a shadow of a doubt.

Sorry mate no. I’m in Spain. The whole of the Valencia region including alicante to take measures from midnight for an initial 15 days then another decision to be made after that period.
Could kill tourism dead for a while - many won’t come through this (business wise)

Similar guidance is being given in Zaragoza and Barcelona. Good luck with the latter, though, especially over the next few weeks.

But then they wouldn’t be able to post pics on FB of their little cherubs in new school uniforms fishing for likes, or put up a status of little Harry in A&E with a scuffed knee fishing for sympathy.
 
It's sad states of affair to see people defending some undefendable things to great length just because of their political stance, while lives of people are in danger. Iif I had any doubts such people are utter cunts, they are removed now.

I can't fucking stand our government, it's main political party and every **** associated with it, but I fully applaud them for making good decisions very early in this "game". This isn't about politics or ideology, this is about my 80 years old dad and 76 years old mom.
