You weren't prepared to listen to the government advisor stating the exact opposite of your view either.

but here:
"
If by using these criteria it is felt that a death may be due to COVID-19, the decision as to whether to proceed to post-mortem examination and whether that examination is limited just to obtaining the necessary swabs and samples to confirm COVID-19 infection (as detailed below) or should entail a fuller more invasive post-mortem examination should be taken on a case-by-case basis depending on the needs of the coroner and other relevant parties. The possibility of conducting a staged post-mortem examination to first take the samples to assess for COVID-19 infection and only after these results have been assessed moving on to a fuller more invasive post-mortem examination as required should be very seriously considered and is recommended if at all possible.
"
Fancy that...

For all the people who are fascinated by the maths and projections this article is an interesting read.

Goes in to lots of data, shows their workings and also explains the rates in a much more digestible (to read them, not the conclusions) manner.

As usual. Apologies if already posted and discussed. But could'nt see anything immediately.

We have a poster on here who as soon as he mentioned he'd been in contact with Karen was tested. We've got a tweet reposted in this thread of an MP's wife slagging off an MP for naming her husband as a contact leading to him being isolated.
He and I were asking for links to reputable sources indicating we have been undertaking large scale testing similar to China (which was your original assertion).

As @Saddleworth2 and I said, we have not seen any evidence of that but are happy to be corrected.

Thought they only test those admitted into hospitals now?
Quite possibly yeah. We’ll definitely not know if it hits millions in the next few months then. The NHS doesn’t have the man power to test and deal with that many cases at once.

And a lot of them will be dying because there simply aren’t any respirators free. It’s so tragic. Has there been an announcement as to how many ICU respirators we have? And how many are occupied?

we have 140 on 2mil + people in my part of the country. a joke.

He actually said that they should just take the ‘average points’ and multiply by the total games and then award them for the season. He’s an absolute ****, and no mistake.
Also heard a cracker on sky news. “The fact the a fit young footballer like Hudson-Odoi has caught the virus means we should all worry”. Ffs.
First bit: boggles the mind.
Second bit: also boggles the mind.

You and I have disagreed on a few things, but it’s always been down to reasonable differences of interpretation of evidence from available studies, expert guidance, and how we think the government should be responding according to our understanding of their stated plans. It’s mostly been about magnitudes, rather than methods. And that second cracker on Sky News shows exactly why that sort of debate is valuable, as otherwise you end up with people just arguing about fallacies.

I feel like I’ve heard on the news maybe that we have something like 1400 in the country? Or 1200, something like that. But I might be imagining hearing it. And maybe there is around 70% occupancy? So we have in the region of 400? I could be wrong though, which is why I was asking if anyone had the figures locked in their brain.
