The Scandinavian countries are doing well. Each has 800-950 cases yet zero (Denmark) or 1 death (Norway and Sweden) per country.

We have a poster on here who as soon as he mentioned he'd been in contact with Karen was tested. We've got a tweet reposted in this thread of an MP's wife slagging off an MP for naming her husband as a contact leading to him being isolated.

Ok, I didn't know that and thats reassuring. I guess the difference is that the chinese proactively traced contacts down, they didn't have to report symptoms before they were tested. On the face of it that sounds more rigorous.

I read a twitter thread from a doctor in Lombardy a few days ago. The message was very much the same but with insight into the plight of the Lombardy health service. It is truly scary and whatever we can do personally to stay safe and avoid being infected, we should.

I understand about carrying on as normal,but with precautions,

I appreciate the link — I know first hand it can be difficult to find things again after you have read them with how quickly the situation is progressing and the rate of articles being posted.

But that does not speak to previous testing protocols or scale, which is what we were discussing. It also doesn’t speak to what we are *actually* doing now. I know the government pointed toward wider spread tracing, tracking, and testing, but I’ve not seen any specific evidence that has been or is currently happening.

It's a different conversation entirely, and not necessarily covid-based, but if you simply cannot be off work to look after your kids, don't have them. If you have to beg, borrow and steal childcare - don't have kids.

Even so, if I’m a care home manager I would be terrified of coronavirus taking hold in the home. The risks to other residents, my staff and myself would be off the scale. If any resident dies of anything that could possibly be coronavirus I’d be demanding they be tested and screaming to the press, my MP etc if they weren’t.

My holiday insurance company have emailed saying if you book after today corona 19 won’t be covered as it’s a known event glad I booked mine earlier and got the cover at the same time. Don’t think many will book holidays now, this will devastate the tourist industry.

I feel like I’ve heard on the news maybe that we have something like 1400 in the country? Or 1200, something like that. But I might be imagining hearing it. And maybe there is around 70% occupancy? So we have in the region of 400? I could be wrong though, which is why I was asking if anyone had the figures locked in their brain.

they've been late to the "party", only 3-4 days ago they started getting some signiificant numbers. Germany is doing very well though.
