Yes they have said themselves yesterday that it is likely to be thousands more. The official figure is accepted as wrong. It just represents who have tested. They accept that thousands with it have not been tested.

The official figure isn't wrong, it's never supposed to mean how many people have it.

The figure is "number of confirmed cases" for a reason, not "number of cases".

Cheers,
Don't suppose there's any point worrying, if it happens, it happens. At least I'll die know Liverpool never won it :)

don’t forget, even if you’re 75 there is still an 85% chance that it won’t be fatal if you get it yourself.

the c7nt about this virus is that it’s so contagious that the weakest 100,000 in our society are likely to lose their lives as a result of it.

I’m shit scared my mum will be one of them, but I’m not worried for myself.

It's fucking wrong, I have 2 young kids and suffer from copd so I said to my other half about self isolation and she said to me that if we keep the kids off school we will be fined for unauthorised absence, so basically we going to have to pay the school to keep safe.

Just say they both have a cough.

I wonder what my situation will be as it's just popped into my head!?

Having had a severe case of sarcoidosis many years ago (one or two of you may remember what I looked like back then), a point where I was close to death, I'm wondering if that is considered 'an underlying condition'?

My chest has never been totally clear ever since, but I'm not on meds for it either.

Hmm...

My wife has a cold, but also has asthma so is going to have to ring up and ask about getting antibiotics to stop her getting a chest infection, what are the odds on me being quarantined by the end of the weekend?

making kids stay at school is not what other countries are doing, not that i know of,we are going kamakarzi for some reason

I’m not for one minute saying it’s the right decision, but one of the theories I’ve heard about keeping the schools open is that if they all shut down many parents would have to take leave from work, and a fair chunk of those parents will work for the NHS which would mean less hospital staff to treat those with coronavirus.

Why does it always seem like it's this country that stumbles through everything. Always caught out, never ready. Always has to go against the grain.

No matter who is in charge they just bumble through from problem to problem.

Letting in people freely from Italy, Korea etc without testing and or quarantine was madness

Letting 60% of people get the disease to meet some medical professors wet dream of an idea is madness.

Now it seems like Boris is going to roll back and inact policies that should have been done in the first place.

Social distancing needs to be done also.

They only had 800 before, so that's pretty much a doubling in one day. Are they doing more testing?
I think the raw number of cases data as you seem to suggest doesn't really tell us much. To be more meaningful we'd need top know if it was random testing, or testing only of the sick; how many (%) negative tests etc.
