According to a poster earlier, we were in the top 6 of countries testing. Not sure where that data came from though.
Yet again I'm not talking about testing I'm talking about action that will save lives

Yeh but my point is, they are deliberately publicising the lower figure so people carry on as normal. To be fair, they are not saying only 700 have it though. That’s how many have tested positive out of the 30k+ tests we’ve done. They have already acknowledged it’s in the tens of thousands that have it.
we had small pox and measles parties so all the kids got it at the same time, looking back our parents had us dicing with death !Makes you wonder why we bothered with a vaccine for measles when good old ‘herd immunity’ would have done.
How did we get on with Small-Pox prior to a vaccine? Maybe it was just the old and ‘economically inactive’ that died?? Or maybe not, that’s why it took 100s of years and a vaccine to get rid of it??
Are you saying that the official figure is a lie then? They are underplaying it to try and get some people to still go about every day life and get it. They want a number to get it and start using the beds now. They are just trying to control the pace 60 percent of the population get it.
When I thought I had it last week I worked hard to get a test and only got one as I had come in contact with Karen. Loads and loads who have been unwell or indeed not showing many symptoms for weeks can’t get tested.
Better weather, better food, better Women, better clothes....still trying to see the downsideI tell you what, if we carry on with this strategy, in 2 weeks we’ll be Italy.
I dunno if it's been posted from 3 days ago as this thread is as fast moving as COVID-19 itself...

Made me smile - not sure how I,d feel in Italy's position

Followed this thread loosely but paid particular interest to yourself and Karens situation. Has your test proved negative? Or are you still waiting for your results ?They are underplaying it to try and get some people to still go about every day life and get it. They want a number to get it and start using the beds now. his test is negative,i am relieved,i think he was going to sue me!Followed this thread loosely but paid particular interest to yourself and Karens situation. Has your test proved negative? Or are you still waiting for your results ?
All the best mate.Been ill for three weeks, had antibiotics sent to me without seeing a doctor, I’m 51 asthmatic diabetes and high blood pressure, feel like death so been calling and finally received a return call from 111, apparently I’m officially a statistic as a covid carrier and as such I will receive a medical certificate advising against overseas travel and can ge used for insurance purposes, I’m not to attend hospital or doctors unless I am in dire straits as been very unwell is the norm? Feel like I’m in a parallel universe.

Fucking death, what’s he like?Death has been doing that since time began, to be fair.
We did have herd immunity for measles and small pox prior to vaccination.
Small pox without herd immunity is what wiped out the aztecs and the Europeans accidentally exposed to it.
When we gave the Inuit measles, 99% of them got infected and 2-3% died.
It's not soft-science, herd immunity is a very real thing, the question is if we can get enough fit healthy people to develop immunity from getting COVID to protect the old and infirm.
it can't be that great when we are the only ones doing itWe did have herd immunity for measles and small pox prior to vaccination.
Small pox without herd immunity is what wiped out the aztecs and the Europeans accidentally exposed to it. 25-30% death rate.
When we gave the Inuit measles, 99% of them got infected and 2-3% died.
It's not soft-science, herd immunity is a very real thing that's been known to be true for decades. The question we are facing with coronavirus is if we can get enough fit healthy people to develop immunity from getting COVID without complications to protect the old and infirm.
