It’s a good idea.

I live in a place where there are two blocks of flats. Mostly younger people in one block but in my block there’s a 90+ year old alone in one flat, a 70+ year old alone in another flat, nobody downstairs and me alone in my flat.

Good for playing music loud because no bugger can hear it around me haha (thats not me being a twat, I’ve asked if my music is too loud and the 90+ year old said “what music?!”), but I’ll be extra vigilant around the neighbours being alright in the coming months.

My grandad has basically 1 friend he sees daily after both their wives died and weve convinced them to move in together for the next couple of months.

Fortunately my grandad has space for both of them and their dogs and we are hoping that'll mean they both manage to isolate better.

I spoke to him earlier and said surely your not still working tomorrow as normal ?
The only instruction they have had is a text that he forwarded to me.
“ please check with the customer before you go into their home if they or anyone as been in contact with anyone that have shown symptoms of corona virus.let them know you can’t enter “
I’ve told him this is not good enough as you are at risk and you and your mates could be spreading it .
It seems big companies are not taking this seriously no surprise with the guidance we’ve had

Eon keep texting me about arranging to get a smart meter fitted. I'm ignoring them completely until this epidemic has passed its peak.
 
The fuckin silence from the government today is a disgrace. I’m self isolating in the outhouse but all the advice I have is isolate, don’t ring 111 and I can’t get tested unless I’m in hospital. Do my kids go to school? Does my wife go to work? They’re totally fine and loads like me just carrying on and coughing over everyone coz they’re not getting concrete advice. Poor poor show mr Johnson. Mind you I can’t say I’m surprised

Plenty of people will be working and coming into contact with hundreds of people a day I’m afraid. One of the big problems and I don’t have an answer for it is that people have to go to work for financial reasons even if they have underlying health problems. If I have the virus I would infect quite a few people, I would very much like to stay at home to protect people even though a lot of them are really stupid. I would be sacked if I did though.

Not sure what will happen if a lockdown happens for a lengthy period, my company would probably go bust within a month and I’m sure lots of places are like that. What happens to all these people how can they access benefits? Imagine people trying to get universal credit or JSA. How about small businesses where owners have literally no income. Throw in the more important lack of equipment nurses and beds and long term lockdown seems impossible.

I don’t think the Govt have announced for other family members to self isolate if a family member has it, but I could be wrong.

They haven’t made that specific in their latest communication that I’ve seen. Didn’t mention it in the text they sent out today.
