Been thinking about this a lot. Goodison Park is smack bang in the middle of a residential area and there's pubs and chippies right outside the ground. There's others on the way there, and it's the same for the Swamp and many other grounds. All those businesses are going to lose money because of matches being off and people staying in. That's what I'm more worried about, that and the little clubs who need the money. Liverpool are loaded. They'll be fine. The League 2 teams, on the other hand, may not.
even the big clubs bank on fans spending money on match days and loss of revenue by food and drinks in the grounds and the all rest all adds. yes smaller clubs will be hit the hardest in all of this and towns and city centres pubs and food outlets all need football to balance the books. always remember many of the pubs and shops around moss side had to close because of the loss of fans with input on match days and gigs in the summer it was sad and some really good shops and chippies and i loved curry goat from the afro caribbean cafe on the corner of the maine road
