I’m catching up on the thread. Have they surrendered yet?Yeah. Put the entire nation on a war footing.
Just to confirm, I’m the fourth case in cheadle hulme.
Whilst I agree some people will probably still go out I’m still not sure how you’d fully enforce a lockdown.
Although we might end up finding out in the next week or so if the numbers aren’t looking good.
Hope you are well soon xJust to confirm, I’m the fourth case in cheadle hulme.
Time to go on a vod binge sir :-)As you know G. we are now in lockdown here in Spain with Police having powers to give fines to people ignoring the exceptions to staying at home.
As an older person I had to drive this morning to the chemists in our local village. The 2 meter rule is being observed with tape separating pharmacist from us and us doing the same in his shop. As yet everything is not a problem, in fact Doctors operating as normal without too many customers with all observing the 2 meter rule and online appointments made for specific times.
Our local town still awaits its first confirmed patient however only 2 confirmed in nearest towns about 20 k away. No doubt things will change but at least lockdown will help to minimise its spread. Helps with schools shut of course but still early days. In fact only boredom to worry about.
Our government put money before people. Always have. A friend of mine has the symptoms and takes 60 pills a day to keep him alive. Paramedics turned up tonight and no beds or testing kits left in England. Meanwhile France etc try to help. I feel sorry for the front line. They can't help.
Me too. Got into work this morning and had three show hires cancelled immediately. And four sales orders that totalled £120. We're supposed to turnover £3k per week just to cover overheads. I think come friday I'll be discussing redundancy with my boss.Events industry, no gigs. I know a lot of freelancer technician who have been hit hard too
Wembley was only 15 days ago, why did you go the piss for 13 days in build up, what did you eat bat?Ha they can have it if they have a time machine to swap with me so i can go back 4 weeks and not go to london lol
Hope you stay well, just be careful and you will be fine
Best of luck mate, hopefully you make a quick recovery from it ..Just to confirm, I’m the fourth case in cheadle hulme.

Been there in 2008. Cancel all no essential outgoing like gyms and TV and batten down the hatches. Look after you now not tomorrow.Me too. The only thing i got from a dr who has spoken to sky newsOne question
Why has there been no news reports or filmomg from any hospital?
Because I have been told tonight Bolton Royal hase turned two wards into ICU only and they are full.
Now whether that is completely accurate I don't know, but I do find it strange that we are being shielded from any knowledge of what is happening in our hospitals
Posted this in the other bloody thread but guess it’s more relevant here.
Science correspondent from the Times talking about the modelling used.
Some more from the modelling press conference
"We were expecting herd immunity to build. We now realise it’s not possible to cope with that. " - Prof Azra Ghani
"Closing schools would have some effect at reducing transmission. Closing schools on its own will have a significant effect on healthcare capacity. If I was to guess, it is quite likely to happen"
"The aim now is not to slow the rate of growth of cases, but put the epidemic in reverse. Hopefully there will be tens of thousands of deaths. Maybe just a few thousand."
Seems we have realised we needed to reverse course.
indeed - sobering stuff, tv news is just catching up with the implications and adding ryders about 'computer model only as good as the data' etcThe mine I don’t like in there (paraphrasing):
“We’ve modelled and at current rates, we’ll need 8x more ICU beds than we have, but even if we had all of those beds (which we don’t have), 250,000 would die.”
