The antibody test is nearly ready apparantly. This was alluded to in today's news conference.
This is the most important thing in fighting this disease (as a vaccine won't be ready till December at the earliest).
Virus stats can properly be determined and blood donated by survivors can be converted to plasma for injection into the seriously ill. A technique that has worked to some degree for previous serious viral infections.
Only been out once today and only allowed one person per car. Walking dogs allowed but they really want everyone at home unless working of course.Ahh i am fine squire as i essentially already self isolate being a tech geek, thank you for asking. I hope you and yours are keeping alright? My social life is fine to as it consists of walking Chopper around the lakes near me which are pretty vast so i don't have to do any of that messy interacting with other humans nonsense hehe.
Have you had to change your daily routines drastically or just a bit of extra precautions?
Sorry to hear that HotM.Just hope for you and thousands of other companies that things do not last as long as we imagine. My business has just had the next 6 months of orders wiped out. I can cut my cloth but impact beyond September leaves me in tatters. Six months of opportunity to paint the house, get a ripped body and watch shite tv.....
Take care Blues. Hope your livelihoods are ok.
We'll know who has had it and cant catch it again. Can you explain why it's so important? Sincere question. I don't understand these things.
Yes, but we’re putting measures in place to flatten the curve.Everyone knows this thread is going to get mental, right?
Strict but civil with people being responsible. That sounds like a pretty decent scenario to be fair. The "Winchester mentality" is one i agree with fully. If only Simon Pegg could moneytize the meme, he would be richer than Bill Gates twice over by now.Only been out once today and only allowed one person per car. Walking dogs allowed but they really want everyone at home unless working of course.
Allowed out for food shopping, medical matters, banking or petrol. All interaction with others now online as all bars and cafes etc closed.
Very quiet in town although supermarkets now staggering their opening times with some limiting quantities and others limiting customer numbers. No need really because most have done panic buying so strangely quiet.
Local Council a big employer so videos on local facebook etc of people actually clapping the many female cleaners who keep centre of town clean and tidy.
Real acceptance by all that it is a small price to pay for hopefully controlling the virus even though we in Huércal Overa area have not yet had a single confirmed case.
No doubt we will get an urge to get out and about but police have fine powers.
Surprised police on Benidorm videos were so tolerant of those on video today, must be local police and not Guarda Civil who are not known for their understanding of law breakers.
We'll know who has had it and cant catch it again.
If you test positive for antibodies it means you've been infected, fought it off and can now go about your life as normal. You also shouldn't be able to carry it. Because so many people get v. mild symptoms, this means we can check them off or tell them they just had flu and still need to be careful.
Leaving this one to @jimharri.My Irish neighbour is working from home tomorrow.
He’s tarmacing his living room.
Are we allowed Irish jokes by the way?
Have they confirmed people won't be able to catch it again or is that just a theory?
Everyone knows this thread is going to get mental, right?
After me, you’re the funniest poster on the board.Yes, but we’re putting measures in place to flatten the curve.
In China they had some people test positive after their symptoms passed but they were all fine, seems like it was just a delay or they were discharged too quickly. In Japan they had 1 guy who got reinfected and according to the CMO in today's press conference that's possible with every virus. And because it's just one person out of 160,000 it's probably him that's the issue, and no point worrying about that until it's a widespread pattern.
I want to believe you mean this...After me, you’re the funniest poster on the board.
