My son is due to get married next week, the venue refused any refund (several thousand pounds) for a cancellation or even a postponement.
Of the guests, several over 70's with diabetes, heart issues, crohn's etc., all advised to stay away. Several overseas guest who can't travel. Half a dozen kids with snotty noses and god knows what else. Even brides father (his only child) and me (my only son) are on the recommended no-go list. Some are saying just sod it, we all go and take our chances.

Just returned from local Tesco. Staff removing excessive items from some shopper's trollies. Big sign by the milk cabinet "2 Bottles Only", then some woman grabbing 8 and arguing with staff.
Some people's greed and selfishness!

Just proving how far we have declined as a nation since the ‘Dunkirk’ spirit shown in WW2. There are exceptions but there’s an awful lot of everyone for themselves out there - was in M&S on Sunday and some of the selfishness and greed on display was staggering.

Journalists being pricks again I see.

Well, at least we can rely on some things never changing.

they don’t ask questions , they just make speeches.

peston waffling on about loans and more debt when he absolutely made it clear it was a combination of loans available if needed but actual grants directly payable.

never listened just stood up and asked a question in his eccentric wanky way.

Found some interesting stats on distribution of cases by Age in Italy, only 1.1% of cases in 0-18 year olds. I am unable to vouch for the accuracy but assuming it is accurate I guess this is what is driving government policy on keeping schools open. The assumption being that kids are still catching it but mostly having mild symptoms and therefore not getting tested, hence building up a herd immunity in kids would bring down overall transmission rates in the wider community. The problem with this plan is that many kids will potentially bring it home and pass it on to at risk people.

pointless asking questions when you don’t get answers anyway.

Schools not closing yet, but still the advice to avoid large crowds of people and to try to distance yourself socially.
Confusing, and no fun for teaching staff

Why not say now we will cover everyones business debt as businesses might cease trading rather than take on more debt when they stil have to pay their tax and debt bill from last year?

On fixed costs busineses have to pay they are being helped to cope with those with grants and money to help them keep people in jobs and pay wages

Individuals will get access to benefits they need(that system works really slow at the best of times)

Must halt the spread so it doesn't overwhelm the NHS

Policy on schools under constant review

Let’s hope after this the world and it’s wife go fir these companies who tax dodgy billions ever year, someone is going have to pay for all this especially the fucking billionaires and amazon etc
