20k is the number on standby at the moment. There ae 190,750k in total if you factor in reserves.50k towns in the UK and 123k police and 20k soldiers ,so 3 per town,,not going to stop the looting when were in full lockdown

I think some scientist somewhere would have noticed by now if that were the caseNot just the Germans, though their's is the most noticeable. Other Central European nations such as the Czech Republic (572 cases, no deaths) and Austria (1800 cases and 5 deaths) are doing much better as well. Also the Scandinavia countries seemingly doing well. I'm not sure why those nations are doing so well compared to Italy, Spain, France, USA and us.
Is it possible there are more and less lethal strains?

Death total doubles in Scotland - cases up by 39. Also the Queen has left Buck Palace for Windsor early to reduce risk. That same move didn't work out well for Prince Albert a few years back ....

I was referring to the post that inferred the UK was full of people who are incapable of changing their habit of doing as they please. I am certain measures have been taken not only to stop the virus spread but also to enforce any civil disobedience resulting from changes.

Saw a report on sky that some ebay sellers are trying to sell tins of baby formula for £300/400 each.
Hope they are shut down immediately and banned from eBay for life.

my daughter has been at Liverpool uni this is her second year,she has paid for her digs at £600 a month,now the uni has been shut down will she get any rebate (it is a private landlord)efectivley the uni has shut down 2 months early

The message doesn't seem to be getting through over there, George.She has a responsibilty to self-isolate for 14 days from the moment her family member showed symptoms.
I'm with you on this one. This is very serious and the repercussions for everyone will be grave, I fear.

Just went to couple shops. All crowded with over 70’s
The scary thing is that 5 days after Italy’s 10th death they had 35 deaths. We’ve had 75 in that time since the 10th person died. Italy has been in lockdown since last Monday and their toll still hasn’t peaked. The government are still busy trying to cover their backs with bullshit statements like the science has evolved.
Impose a curfew.
Give the 3 policemen a gun.
Any looters to be shot on sight.
Desperate times, desperate measures.
Doesn’t even have to be shot dead, shoot them with a taser or rubber bullets to the leg.

True, but rest assured that an awful lot of us really appreciate it :)Military Aid to Civil Authorities (MACA) may indeed be invoked Nationwide within days.
MACA doesn't just mean cracking heads though. It can be anything from medical assistance, food relief, keeping supply chains open, flood defences or anything to help keep the country going.
Shame there are an awful lot of people that don't appreciate the sacrifices military personnel make when they sign on the line serve their country.
Even though capacity has reduced, the calibre and conduct of our armed forces personnel are world class.
