COVID-19 — Coronavirus

A week last Tuesday I had a doctors appointment. On the Wednesdsy morning I had the mildest of mild sore thoughts accompanied by a rise in blood pressure of 15/2 points. Better now except for my Kidneys (that are still painful) and a stuffy nose.
Good grief. I hope you get back to full health as soon as.

In that case, they should have invented faster than light travel, go back in time and get us locked down three weeks ago.

yeah and just 20 minutes ago you are posting about having your daughter and grandkids coming around to visit you for the weekend and going out to your favourite Italian for a takeaway , but yeah you believe in lockdown.

Not sure shutting schools/pubs/cafes is going to have the desired effect if everyone is just walking the streets. I understand that people want to exercise especially when the sun is out but the streets are currently packed as if it's summer holidays and i'm living in what is effectively a small town. We're a densely populated country and the only way this social distancing is going to work is if the government forces us to stay indoors.

I've no doubt my parents will soon end up with it and one of them is very high risk. They've got young neighbours who insist on knocking on the door every ten minutes and my mum treks up to my sisters everyday who is utterly hopeless.

think us workers its just pot luck if you work or a good company or not. My company a local council put on their facebook page asking the public not to approach us as we will be needed for delivering food etc to the local people who need help in the near future. Well on Friday I had a member of the public open my van door and have a rant at me over something that is nothing to do with us. So that worked. I do wonder why grass cutting, little picking, cleaning up graffiti cant wait if we are going to be needed for more important work in the coming weeks. Why risk us doing those jobs around the public, when we might run out of staff for the more important work of caring for the more vulnerable. I would have kept us of the streets, it might redue the risks for the weeks ahead .

Right on cue.

The Government's initial response to this crisis was idiotic. The rest of the world could see it as could many in the UK including several on this very forum. Thousands will die unnecessarily because of this.

They have now changed course but are still not doing everything they should be. More will die because of this.

Hiding behind their 'experts' is not acceptable. The Government is responsible and their actions will cause many unnecessary deaths.

You will get no more from me.
You’re the same in this thread as any other. No matter what this government do you’d criticise. Just fucking leave it for a change. At least it’s not consistent Twitter posts though.

One driver picks up trailer load, we unload pallets at our end. Going to jet wash each pallet then take wrapping off and immediately bin whilst wearing gloves. Takes 7 days to arrive so I’d suspect it should all be fine.

People also need to realise that we cannot minimise the risk of getting the virus to nil. It isn’t a binary risk. We have to shop. We have to import food.

All we can do is minimise our own risk to as close to nil as possible. If we all do this then the R figure will hopefully reduce to lower than 1 meaning the virus will peter out.

Snowdonia National Park Authority said its area "experienced its busiest ever visitor day in living memory" on Saturday.

Utter bellends

but are they?

people need to get out of the house and exercise or go for a walk. So long as they stay a sensible distance from others what is the issue.

so for example what is worse me my wife and my son who all live in the same house stay here and drive each other mad , or we go for a walk , the three of us around a field? What does it matter weare not meeting other people or touching other people . We are just people going for a walk on a nice day . If you keep a safe distance from other people you might see what is the issue?

I am going for a run later on my own, am I bellend . What harm am I doing anyone?

this could last many months , saying people cannot even go out of their house for months on end will cause all kinds of mental health issues. Keep your distance but get fresh air if you can.

No issue if done properly. Majority aren’t and won’t do it properly

Personal choice... Daughter came with grandkids for the weekend, just gone. Now other daughter wants to get in takeaway for us to eat together later - frankly, the risk still seems low (not an area with a lot of cases, and I'm in the "vulnerable" category - age (just) with some underlying issues but fitter than most a lot younger). I've been fairly scrupulous (just short of OCD) with hygiene (get shopping from supermarket, click car open through my pocket lining, food in boot, go back in supermarket to wash hands before driving home, leave most goods in boot - for 3 days if possible, wipe plastic packaging before putting in fridge, etc.). Now if she'll use our favourite Italian restaurant where they will bring food out to the car, rather than the place she means where she might have to queue up to get it...
Personal choice that puts the lives of others at risk. You bell-end.

I mostly agree but the fact is the summit was cramped and people were in very close contact, the thing I read on it.

While I agree with you on some points, the fact of the matter is that a lot of people just aren't getting the message. I also went for a run on my own earlier and expected the park to be much quieter than it was, there were 70+ year olds walking about as well.

And while you say this could last for 'many months', I agree - but it will last for a lot longer than that if people do not fucking take this seriously. I'd rather 3 months of isolation, than 18 to be honest?

Its all about common sense.

Sadly there are a huge number of the population who do not have this commodity. They are a danger to themselves and everybody else.
