Just had a meeting in work and we've been informed that if anyone receives a letter stating they are in a high risk category, and should self isolate for 12 weeks, then they have to use holidays as not eligible for company sick pay.

Utter wankers, what about all the government help, they just going to pocket that

Probably not the right thread for this but its massively hit me personally today without anyone being affected so I feel pretty crap writing this.

Just off the phone to my ex who ive got a 15 year old lad with, see him 4 or 5 times every week and he stays over at least 1 night every weekend and weve come to the decision him going backwards and forwards between our houses wont help anyone with all this so for the forseeable I wont be seeing him in person, its absolutely fucking done me in, I feel like a right selfish prick as ive got Mrs Gaz and 2 little miss Gaz's at home and I know its the correct thing to do but I cant get my head round it.

Cant wait for it to all be done and dusted the fucking twat of a bastarding virus, fuck off

Thing to remember mate is, it’s ok to get it, symptoms similar to yours, just monitor your chest, if it clogs up gurgling or serious shortness of breath, u need to 111.

Start of your cough.

Of course there are no cast iron certainties. You could have had a "normal" cough and then caught COVID-19, unrelated, 3 days ago. But the advice is about new, persistent cough and high temperature. As you have neither, I would say you are probably OK.

Hahaha mam used to do those back in the day with a bit of luncheon meat on too, birthday parties had wooden toothpicks and posh xmas parties had plastic swords. Have a great day bud.

FWIW I've had headaches (unusual for me) and sore eyes as well, but this has been going on for about a month now. So I can only conclude it is not COVID-19 or else I would have either got sick, or recovered by now. I am no doctor, but I would imagine cough and temperature are the two big indicators. Particularly temperature. When your body is fighting an infection, you usually get a raised temperature.

My doctor sent me for an eye test last year because I was getting head aches and eye ache and he thought it could be my eye sight getting worse and me straining my muscles to see better.

But the optician asked me a series of questions and concluded (after my eye test showed my eyes were spot on) that it’s likely it could be that I’m stressed and getting tension headaches or that my forehead and muscles around my eyes were contracting a lot due to a light being on above my head in my office at work... I turned the light off the next week and the headaches disappeared.
