Diabetics were second on the list 3 days ago bud, they are going down the charts faster than one bloody direction have. I'll give you an example of the stupidity here, my Son In Laws Dad is 71 healthy mind but his wife is 67 and a diabetic they clean a school. The headteacher sent 2 pregnant teachers home (Considering there hasn't been a known death of a pregnant woman infected with this bugger of a virus) because she felt it was dangerous for them to be exposed to the threat.

It makes not one jot of sense.
There’s not a lot that makes sense mate, all I can do is stay in and hope. It’s ridiculous times we are living through scary and the threat of dying or killing someone is constantly rammed down our throats. Never have I seen or heard the things like this before.

I suspect it will be tightened in the next 48 hours to just food shops and chemist's being allowed to open and a ban put on travelling to the UK by the end of the weekend.

If thats the expected average I would expect that it will exceed that final figure this year very sadly.
That’s a rate of over 1 per thousand and, Incredibly, this country isn’t even in the top 50. Over 1 million people will die by suicide, worldwide, this year. And next. It’s like a virus, only nobody gives a toss about that one.

Yeah, said this straight after the announcement. Nothing much changed. People still have to go to work and people will still fight with each other at supermarkets because the food delivery services are at breaking point. And the 1 exercise allowed per day rule is a joke. Exercise should have been restricted to the home/garden. You don’t need to ride a bike or go jogging to keep fit. Joe Wicks is doing amazing work (free of charge) to prove that. People will just whack their trainers on, so what they want and just start running when they are confronted. It’s no different to yesterday and they need to crack the whip ASAP.

Unless of course this is all part of the herd immunity plan. They got pelters for saying it was the plan initially (quite rightly), so perhaps they have now decided to keep it as a key part of the plan but disguise it a bit.

Not everyone has a garden. Huge urban populations still have families and children, going to the park is allowed once a day, and people can still maintain safe distance.

Honestly, imho, if the public just spent a fraction of the energy undersranding and following the guidance and instructions, rather than arguing and interpreting whether it is strict enough or too strict, a good chunk of the battle would be won.

Gove said they’re to stay open. It appears the government are a tad confusing in the communication with the public and not for the first time.

Oh I hadnt that Gove was saying the opposite to the Prime Minister , last night the PM address he clearly said building sites were to close.

Got an MOT booked on wife’s car for Thursday. Just phoned garage to see if it’s still on as had read Temp Exemption Certs were being issued, and he said the had instruction to only carry out essential work, ie as wife works for NHS her car will be done to keep her moving.
Strange times indeed.

Or the last.

Just watching the telly and there are numerous people ringing in with questions, many of them fairly obscure or regarding complex situations. Not really the types of circumstances that politicians and civil servants could reasonably be expected to have anticipated. If the government had instructed the civil service to resolve all these issues before the announcement it would have taken weeks. At least now these issues are being highlighted and can be dealt with.

I think the government can be blamed for some big omissions in their announcements. For example, not addressing the issue of the self employed. I don’t think they can reasonably be criticised for not having the detail 100% sorted.

I assume so.

For example; construction is open today and unless they're building hospitals for this crisis then it just isn't essential at the moment (not to dismiss those in that sector as they are essential at different times).

I'm working for a major construction materials supplier. It is buisness as usual,as we are classed as essential, surprise surprise.

Lip service is given to keeping meetings to a minimum and keeping stuff as clean as possible.Health and safety is the companies main priority, they tell us.

I'll be back in work tonight.
