According to Sadiq Khan, in the Cobra meeting yesterday, Boris Johnson argued for construction workers to keep working.
Therefore yesterday's announcement was not a government lockdown that was wilfully misinterpreted by individuals and business. It was not a lockdown.
I'm glad that Manchester is quiet but London at rush hour still have evident problems and hidden away from view there's still a lot of people doing non-essential jobs. And everyone knows that as a result of that suppression of the virus is only partial.
Because 2 members of staff have been mugged for their phones and so it makes total sense to pass on advice to conceal other things that may attract thieves. However, nowhere does it say anywhere that NHS staff have been mugged for their ID cards as people are wrongly suggesting and spreading.
Fair enough. I'd still like to know how relatively speaking they are doing quite well.38 million? no chance.

as of the 9th March the global totals of tests were about 700k
I would be the one wearing a uniform with bover boots on haTake care you are our Florence nightingale with ATTITUDE.
It will not be permanent because of the mutation rate. There's already more than one strain I believe. Coronavirus is an RNA virus and mutates much faster than human cells which are double stranded.Unfortunately I dont think anyone can answer that with cettainty for 10+ years.
I think in a few weeks we will know much more about the "reinfected" people in china and as the number of cases hits the millions they will become statistically irrelevant or maybe it'll be a real thing.
Judging by the mass graves they’ve dug, it’s faulty accounting.Fair enough. I'd still like to know how relatively speaking they are doing quite well.
Is it faulty accounting? Help from China?
Because taken at face value they are doing way better than Italy and Spain.

Mum just got her delivery from Tesco, with the expected half the items missing. Including (again) milk FFS. Now I can understand the unavailability of delivery slots - fucking inconvenient though it is - but I am unaware of a national milk shortage. Fucking abysmal from Tesco to not be able to deliver ANY milk at all - full fat, semi-skimmed, fat-free, long-life or normal, in any sizes at all. Pitiful effort Tesco - hang your heads in shame. Your buying department need shooting.
So now you’re having a go at me for not reading every post on 20,000 post thread?#19605 and #19611
and if you could see through your hateful gaze you would have read my admission to underestimating this virus several days ago.
Deaths up to 422, 87 more since yesterday.
Fine. ID badge mugging gangs it is then. You don't know for sure that it's bollocks though. The article suggests that there have been reports - how do you know those reports didn't emanate from someone who was personally targeted? It even says that the 2 muggings weren't reported to the police.
Go on then.truce?

Bigger jump than I was expecting after seeing the Wales and Scotland figures
The UK has recorded the highest number of coronavirus deaths in one day after another 87 people died across the country - taking the total to 422.
The Department for Health and Social Care announced the latest figures on the first day of a nationwide lockdown to counter the coronavirus, announced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson last night.
Eighty-three of the deaths came in England, with two in Scotland, one in Wales, and one in Northern Ireland.
The number of confirmed cases in the UK now stands at 8,077.
