We all know this Karen but unfortunately we have shit loads of utterly thick, selfish deluded wankers who don't watch the news or listen to any of the warnings. They have a " Me and my kids will do what we want, nobody's telling us what to do!" attitude. I've no idea how we got to this low base level as a country.
Unfortunately oh so true pc.

Yes could do with finding that bar chart thing which had the daily death numbers on it where the UK was tracking along at the exact same rate but 14 days behind. I'm sure we should have had the massive spike by now.

Only thing I could find was this, I've not verified it in anyway. but if its accurate. 23rd ( Yesterdays date as we the figures are the last 24h, correct me if im wrong here ) < 14 days in italy they were on 463 deaths. compared to our 422.

From what I read elsewhere Italy had a bit of an acceleration at this point but could be related to locking down and inter generational houses, the lock down actually exposed the older generation in those houses more.

You would hope this starts to really hit home now, last Wednesday the figure was just over 100, so in effect in the next 6 days the number has quadrupled.

I guess it's highly likely that tomorrow we will see the first day where there are over 100 deaths, sadly there are some terrible times ahead.
Indeed. Daily deaths are probably multiplying by 10 roughly every 9 or 10 days.

Hopefully it will start to slow off soon, as a result of the social distancing some people have wisely been doing for a couple of weeks, but I'm afraid we are going to see it peaking at more than 1,000 dead per day within a couple of weeks. And very sadly we don't have anything like enough spare ICU beds to accommodate those sorts of numbers needing ICU, so the mortality rate will likely continue to rise horribly with many people dying who could otherwise have been saved. This was all so very, very predictable and is all very, very depressing.

Can't confirm the above figures but we have now reported 422 deaths which if the above figures are correct would mean the steep curve that Italy went on hasn't so far been replicated by us as 14 days ago Italy reported 631 deaths. March 5 to March 9 Italy's deaths increased by just over 325% whereas our increase is just under 200%. Neither are ideal and my sympathies go out to everyone affected by this virus.
EDIT: Italy just reported a huge jump in deaths so the last two days of lower deaths can't be seen as a trend just yet, hopefully today is a blip!

They were on 631 in their equivalent day.

yeah its not easy just to compare when not knowing when the figures were taken in the day, ours for example were 1pm 23rd to 1pm 24th so I actually counted those as "23rd", as its not the 23rd or the 24th :/

Is this different to the .gov one I got this morning?

Edit: never mind, just found another post from earlier. Things are moving too damn fast for me.

There is a text to those most at risk telling them to not to go out at all for 12 weeks. Then there have been other texts with updates for the general populace.
