FT journo basically just asked this right now. They said this is unlikely to happen. They said they'll use it strategically to give it to certain people to collect and verify the data they need to see how far this has spread and how many people are asymptomatic. Said its very unlikely to just appear online to buy any time soon.

It would make no sense to sell them on the high street - it doesn't offer anything much, and would lead to people grabbing handfuls of them, even if there was a way to deliver them. It would be very difficult to learn anything from a scattergun approach.

Testing on this scale has to be organised in blocks, and in an orderly manner.

How will the public get the tests and how do you get the results back?

Public won't be buying them on the internet soon,has to be done in order to get people cleared to go back to work,it is the antibody test that is key

I am sure all will become clear as and when the tests become available.

Going back to election time they didn't seem to have a problem distributing all the party election bollocks propoganda. So could surely use same method

Boris waffling about tests

Delays here because every country is trying to get the components of the tests

We have tested 97,000 so far

Johnson started okay today, but doesn't seem to have anything to say, bar say how well the government have done several times. It feels like the wrong tone for me, but I can't place why particularly.
The other two are relatively clear.

Overall, bar the 405k volunteers, there doesn't seem to be any new detail.

Exactly,also the results have to be collected in the order that the scientist need the answers to move us foward,i assume those of us that have had it will get one fairly soon to answer the immunity question

It’s like a pregnancy test. You get the results on the stick in about 15 minutes.

Non peer reviewed research from China says Group O blood means you're somewhat less likely to get it and Group A more likely. It didn't specify A negative...

It's not how badly you get it, but what proportion comes through it. Group A do a bit better than average, Group A do worse ("a bit" = measurable - at least, that's what the research showed, so it may be another "underlying" factor); there's plenty of historic research into blood group and infection, e.g. group O is less fatal if you get malaria, and you get less risk of heart problems, but group A is better at surviving streptococcal infection. The daft thing would be if Group O people feel it's like kryptonite.
