Just watching the news review, might have been the financial times,as you say they are overwhelmed with people trying to get the mortgage holiday anyway, anyone would be mad letting anyone come and look around their house right now

True. People wouldn't be allowed to go around looking at houses anyway now I don't think, unless it's classed as exercise!

the problem is that there are a lot of scrotes who will see this as an opportunity to get into the buy to let market and a lot of scrotes who are in it and see this as a good time to cash in.

The problem any government has when they announce the kind of interventions we've seen in the last couple of weeks is that there are a lot of people who will see it as an opportunity to make some quick cash.
I fucking hate them. I have a very good friend who just happened to be trading gold (not huge amounts) during 9/11 and made a bunch of cash. He cried about it to me over a bottle of JD and after a long discussion gave all his profit to a local charity a week later. He loves and hates me for that discussion to this day and I have no idea if I gave good or bad advice.
the world is complicated for good people. It's fucking easy for shitbags.
So you have a very good friend who made a killing out of a tragic event and you feel slightly uneasy about putting him on a guilt trip where he squandered his filthy lucre on a charity that probably employs a CEO on 200K.

Mass testing seems very close....that's the only way Trump's plan of re-opening low-risk states can work. Roche are shipping kits which allow relatively quick results (hours). If enough are made available, and they are reliable, suddenly we shift from lockdown of entire states/countries to isolating the sick.

When I read some of the comments on here about protecting themselves and keeping safe it's clear that they have misunderstood why we are staying at home. We are staying at home to stay safe in the future. I hope the risk in Manchester of catching the virus whilst out shopping is still small because I am still doing it. We stay at home to make that 'small' chance of transmission smaller. It's more about interrupting virus transmission as it grows exponentially so that we set back the peak after 5-6 cycles of growth. It's in the peak that the virus suddenly becomes prevalent (qualitatively speaking).

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) who have done Jack Schidt for 50 years to deal with their coubtrues species jump virus factory.

Thanks. I don’t want to annoy you, but I’m not sure what good having anger with them will do for you as viruses have to start somewhere.

Sure, it’s probable that this has come from a wet market and they need shutting down ASAP, but if they hadn’t existed, the virus would have come along at some point.

We need to stay positive. We can beat this by isolating and buying time for scientists.

I'm never angry about somthing that I personally can do nothing about.
Oh, and it's not just wet markets it's their whole system of animal farming that keeps animals of different species in close contact leading to bird flu, swine flu etc.

You seem to be in the know. It doesn’t register on my caredar as viruses appear everywhere all the time.

Maybe Covid20 will result from unemptied bins in the UK. I’m sure you’d be less willing to throw the blame at us.

Why you always defending China? Fuck em the scruffy commie bastards. Hope the world boycotts them.

Apart from the ones who have bought a stake in City, obviously and Sun Jihai
And all the hardworking & underpaid people in the restaurant business, the lovely family next door to us, and the modern inheritors of 3,000 years of Chinese culture and civilization. Apart from them, yeah, fuck the corrupt & tyrannical leaders of the ruling Party elite.

I don't have a crystal ball. So I can't comment on that.

Yeah I wonder why they’d need more ventilators now.....

Yeah I don’t think I’ll be praising him and one doesn’t need a crystal ball to see this isn’t going to end well for tens of thousands of Americans.

Thats my concern .......people who lose their jobs for now and decide to go back to their parents in M'cr, Leeds, newcastle and so on.......

But if they follow the advice and stay indoors as much as they possibly can while adhering to social distancing techniques, there’s no reason why it should add that much to the speed of the spread. London itself is a major worry but looking at how deserted Manchester city centre is these days, I presume other major cities such as Birmingham, Liverpool, and Sheffield are the same, so outside of London we’re by and large doing what we’ve been asked to do.

Gove has ordered all exchange of contracts to stop
Removal firms are closed.
Three firms of conveyancing solicitors went bust yesterday. Loads are furloughing staff

no one is going anywhere
