Rush doesn't believe a word of what he says, just as rich evangelical preachers do not.

They're a remarkable hybrid between professional athletes and actors. Actors who are famous get paid a ton, but people know they're acting. The cream of the crop athletes get paid a ton because people know they aren't acting -- every game/match is a drama with an uncertain end.

Rush, B-A-C preachers et al are actors but they are paid well because the crowd doesn't know that they're acting.

Their product is "what you want to hear" -- it isn't politics or analysis or salvation or (Lord knows) truth.

No one ever went broke telling people what they want to hear.

I guess in Limbaugh's case, he must be a c*nt in the first place if his job is being paid to act like a massive racist c*nt.

Obviously if you’re an actor and don’t tell people you’re acting you are a massive ****. It’s like those crank call shows or what Sascha-Baron Cohen does or plenty of other comics — Clarkies. And frankly I haven’t ever been a fan of those kinds of things — people being made fools of when they have no reason to suspect otherwise, played for laughs (oh, and for money) against people who aren’t let in on the joke. Rush et al have been doing it to the same people for decades and never letting them in on the joke. And fleecing them every day, week, month and year. Which of course is the same as Trump.
