we received a message from local council in dorset giving advice on wuhan coronavirus (their words) on eleventh of february. gave symptoms and asked if we were displaying any and had travelled to china, japan, macau, malaysia, taiwan, thailand etc. so i would say based on that health authorities were aware in late january at latest. The beginning of Feb is not "at Christmas" mate. I would say the chances you had it by early Feb are very slim indeed. Beginning of Jan? No chance.
Why? Because this is a highly infectious disease and whoever had it would have passed it on to others who passed it on to others, exponentially. If someone had it at Christmas in the UK, then we would be miles further advanced with this disease in the UK than we are now.
I’ve never understood why some people get their knickers in a twist over that word. It’s no worse than fuck or twat or dick.Good job you can’t be nicked for just saying ****, you’d be fucked.
I imagine the Chinese could well be responsible for covering up initially. I suppose my point was that this is not specifically a Chinese government trait.
When they had the train bomb attack in Madrid years ago, the government decided to blame ETA, despite evidence to the contrary. And the UK and US and everybody else do the same sort of thing, often using the phrase in the interests of national security.

fakin cantI treat it as a badge of honour. I am a **** and most of my friends are cunts to a degree . being a **** is a positive and cunts tend to like other cunts.

I'm fed up with this now so - as I'm in a queue outside the pharmacy - I've given it more attention than I wanted to.
And if it had not been transmissible between humans how much of a travel ban would you have unnecessarily wanted imposed? The doctor (whistleblower) was right to suggest it might be a SARS virus but he could have been wrong. Given the reluctance of western governments to lock down their travel and not even check arrivals from known hotspots even now, finger pointing at China or WHO seems just deflection.
Do you really think they weren't trying to identify it because they are communists? WHO reported on 12 January that "A total of 763 close contacts including healthcare workers, have been identified and followed up and no additional cases of infection with the novel coronavirus have been identified".
Blaming the Chinese for not knowing what they were dealing with and trying to suppress what might have been panic-inducing opinion is one thing. Excusing western governments their inaction when they did know what they were dealing with is another.
Go on - imagine it. The population of Wuhan finds out there's a highly infectious SARS virus in the city. "Let's all go home to other parts of China ..."
Can I suggest another offshoot thread to declutter this? The whose fault is it pointless thread.
Not convinced Chippy mate, I think it might have got here just before Xmas with people coming from China. I had something suspicious at the beginning of Feb that took a good three weeks to throw off, and it was mild. I am convinced I either picked it up in Malaga or at the airport coming back where I sat in the middle of about 200 italians waiting for a flight with Milan.
The more I hear the more I think there is a chance I have had the bugger.
If it does turn out that I did have it I will consider myself extremely lucky to have got off so lightly and only the fact I would rarely be at all lucky makes me think it was something else.
Was just being explained on Sky that the 180 is Hospital deaths.180 deaths today here, but Italy also showed a drop from 13th March (250) to 14th March (175) before their huge numbers started showing.
Ah right, thank you. Is there a different figure for all deaths? Was just being being explained on Sky that the 180 is Hospital deaths.

1415 deaths for us now
Only deaths in hospital counted, madness we have not been counting the rest,i have been saying this for a couple of weeks like those in care homes wouldn't be counted and would go down as whatever their expected death conditions were despite get battered for it
Your numbers are pure fiction.
Why?
