Presumably that comparison will become even starker once Germany acclerates its testing this week and determines more cases. Another interesting difference is that Germany has 1,979 seriously critical cases, yet the UK is showing only 163 such cases. (Figures on Worldometer)

They knew what was going on, they closed travel from the Hubei province before the WHO announced there was human to human contact. They stated that was happening on December 31st and were ignored and silenced by China’s power. The WHO don’t allow them to join their organisation and instead take China’s view that they’re not independent.

Its not a pandemic at this stage as its not nationwide nor is it spreading beyond Wuhan to the best of the WHO knowledge ( at this stage ) - its not a communist party love in - its called a time line and the best way to follow the WHO time line is to revert to their website. That can only be down to differences in testing. Germany is clearly testing more than us. In Scotland the CMO has stated she believes there are 100,000 cases. That shows the scale of the shortfall in testing. It will be exactly the same in the rest of the U.K.

Someone i know in the medical profession told me the same about overloading. Apparently the virus gets into your mouth or nose and effectively lives there whilst it grows. Your body either kills it at this point or it becomes strong enough to make its way into your lungs. He said if you are in constant contact with it, you will get more of the virus at the start which is likely to make it stronger.

May explain so many doctors dying in Italy.

It also explains the stories of why gargling very warm salt water and injecting it up tour nose with a calpol syringe delays onset of the disease and gives you time to fight the illness. It does kill some of the viral load.
By the way dont Inject salt water up your nose with a calpol syringe unless it has been boiled. There is a very nasty brain eating ameba that you can kill yourself with.

There are some parts of the world where social distancing is almost impossible.

Very much so. From what I read however this, in India, was largely due to government ineptitude. People were given 4 hours notice of the lock down measures. No transport considerations were given at all, extra buses etc. This caused a rush as you can imagine.

They didn’t know it definitely was at that stage though, about a week or two after they had evidence of it passing between families but still didn’t know if it was sustained H2H transmission.
