That's simply not true.

We lock down hard enough and long enough to get rid of it - or get get the new infection rate down to close to zero, and then we can ease off and gradually start to get back to normal. And then test like mad, isolate new cases and their contacts and isolate them too. And if numbers start to rise too quickly, lock down again. And do it early this time, whilst the numbers are still very low so that any new lock down can be bruef.

This works. China showed us it works. Singapore same. South Korea and Taiwan ditto.

The "let's allow everyone to catch it' idea is nonsense. It can never work. You cannot spread 40m infections out any way any how, and not hugely exceed the health service capacity to treat people. Then many tens, even hundreds of thousands die because we don't have enough ICU capacity.

It is a non-starter.
It’s why we need testing to be ramped up. If 3/4’s of those infected are asymptomatic (as per the recent Chinese study) then it hugely changes things. It means only 10m of the 40m you quote will get symptoms.

Sid James used to be Tony Hancock's support act but I see he's moved into comedy in his own right.

Tony Hancock.....

How old are you ffs 86 ?

Give your Son a good slap for showing you how to use Tinternet :-)

The most incredible thing about this post is that it received a like. Astonishing.

Also really incredible that you are the only one,who felt it absolutely necessary to ridicule, and leave a negative comment :-)

Do you do Irony. ?

Get back to me when you have looked it up in the dictionary

It's taken me a while to do this but I've reached my own tipping point

I was born in 1959, and became a Blue around about 1966 but I cant be sure. My Dad was a Bury supporter, my eldest brother was Oldham, my other brother was United so I picked City. I remember getting my first City kit around this time at Christmas, it came in a box with a plastic window and I wore it for days and days with my mum washing it so that I could wear it the next day.

I've been through everything since like a lot of Blues. In 2012, I was diagnosed with cancer and missed the Aguero moment as I was in hospital recovering from my first life saving operation. I actually watched the match on another Blues iPad who was in the next bed, but that's another story. What a miss that was after all the years as a Blue

Now I'm considered an extremely at risk person because my immune system is weak because of the chemotherapy that I've had. The Christie hospital has rung me and said that I can no longer have treatment because of the risk of infection and the obvious outcome involved. Going to the shops even ecery few days is a real risk to me.

As you can guess from my age, my wife is elderly (please don't tell her I said that) but she has problems with her thyroid. So both of us can't go to the shops, but we obviously have to. I won't ask anybody to put themselves at risk to go to the shops for us.

So the point of all of this is to please, give me qand my wife and the thousands if not millions of Brits like us a chance to get through this and come out safe at the end. We know how tough it is to stay in isolation, but you can really help us to stay alive. Isn't that ok?

Keep safe Blues!!
I am in the same position as you: rated vulnerable due to immuno suppressant drugs to treat auto immune condition. I am more than 10 years older than you, so I am a bit wobbly on my feet. My wife has some physical probs. I agree with you that others should not need to risk themselves, so I go to our local shop and we make do with whatever we can get. I go at times I know when ppl are thin on the ground. Yet I saw a group of 10 young men together. Mad and selfish.
So, everybody take care, obey the rules, and help keep us old farts going.
Stay safe, chin up, smile.

Are you for real ?

There are links to stories that say as many as 250,000 could have died in China.

The Chinese burned that many bodies that Japanese were covered in black Soot

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...-black-rain-reported-falling-parts-Japan.html.

Right now there is a secondary break out, with the truth being suppressed.

They have lied,lied,and lied again.

Chinese have shown nothing other than they can lie through their Teeth and cover up the facts.

They didn't even shut their air space until this pandemic went global.

Using the Chinese as a role model is astonishing, truly astonishing.

Glad UK Government has other ideas.

You and KS55 are surely on the "extremely vulnerable" list and should not need to leave the house. See the gov.uk site and/or contact your local council. PM if you want help to find a local contact.

I agree that is Incredible. I would have thought many more people would have called you out for posting such a load of bollocks. Most people must have just figured it was so utterly ludicrous as to not warrant further comment.

Top post mate, and good luck to you & your mrs,(no pics necessary)lol,

Bill Gates ,and George Soros are not letting this Covid pandemic go to waste. They are more vocal than ever about their one World governments, doing away with traditionally currencies, having mircro Chips implanted in the Hand (Mark of the Beast),obviously so authorities can see who has been vaccinated,.Even Gordon Brown has got in on the act.The Man who sold the Country Gold reserves at rocket bottom prices.Says a one World Government is needed.

Someone with ulterior motives let this thing loose on the global population.

This Lab in Wuhan where it is alleged to have escaped from,or should i say started, is part owned by the Billionaire that pushing a NWO government.

By the end of this Pandemic the World will be ripe for a new economic system.Already the signs are there that an economic collapse is imminent.

Most of those being hit hard by this crisis are the Self Employed, and Zero Hours contract employees.Their are millions of these people who are now needing government support.

Rich billionaires if they get their way, would have the World become one giant Communist State. A World of Generic Workers all dressed out like the Chinese People Liberation Army. With no religious affiliations.Women equal to Men in every sense of the World, have a Baby in the morning, back on the production line by dinner time.

By the end of this pandemic the Rich will be even richer, buying up forfeitures at rock bottom prices to then rent back to the broke former occupants.

Gordon Brown has got in on the act.
Not like he took his eye off the price off gold when selling the prick..
