Is there any science that backs up the malaria drug?

He certainly is box office. He’s had more car crashes than the Fast and the Furious franchise.

the malaria drug has just been approved to go into clinical trials,just,nobody knows how corona patients will react to it,to say it is not killing people might,i dont know about malaria patients,be true but not for corona patients,he is being beyond reckless,he desperately wants to get this over,he said last night 2mths and get everyone back to work and rescue to economy as that is his big selling point for getting a second term

Yeah, that was my understanding too. I was just making sure I hadn’t missed something extra.

It'll be mostly because they’ve silently bought shares in companies that produce it whilst giving his citizens hope. It’s based on nothing, but his sycophants will ask why more wasn’t made available rather than question whether he is right.
 
Sometimes people like the idea of countries/political parties being run by successful businessmen but beware the corporate or worse still celebrity CEO.
 
I was watching him last night and he was talking about this malaria drug. I got distracted for about 3 seconds and the next thing I know he seemed very confused (even more than usual) and was bumbling on about erythromycin and people "without heart conditions" and then he was quite quickly back on to hydroxychloroquine. Did he have a point to make about erythromycin or had he said it by mistake?

It seemed like he'd just rembered he'd been told not to talk about it.

I was reading that the US federal government has bought up 100s of millions of dollars worth of hydroxychloroquine. As well as it leading to a shortage of the drug for its intended use I’m guessing that Trump is indirectly holding stock in the companies that make the drug.

The “cocktail” includes the malaria drug, hydroxychloroquine, to be taken with Azithromycin (called Z pack here). Between the two, they are supposed to be able to blunt the virus.

As @karen7 stated, while he touts this, the medical experts say it hasn’t been tested for this and no data to show effective. When reporter asked Dr Fauci his opinion, Trump stepped in, shutdown the Dr from answering and told the reporter “I’ve told you about it 15 times. Don’t be a wise guy!” At that, he ended the campaign event, err, I mean Coronavirus propaganda, err, update.

The news over here has stopped showing them live, because there are so many lies, and the medical experts they have in their shows say that some of the “advice” could lead to people killing themselves. There are significant side effects from both drugs, so they must be prescribed by a Dr who knows your own personal medical conditions, allergies, etc...

Fucking clown has already killed thousands of people, but acts like the Second Coming of the Messiah.

No doubt one of the Trump or Kushner companies have stock holdings linked to potential COVID treatments that Trump has been pushing at his daily presser.

I'd also wager that Oscar Health (Kushner's brothers company that he set up with Jared) get distribution rights.
