Just watching Casablanca on TCM. Brilliant film, Bogey at his best. The scene with the young couple at the roulette wheel trying to win enough to get to America is wonderful. I hope Hollywood has the good sense to never even contemplate a remake/reboot of it. And yes, Bergman was stunningly beautiful.

I enjoyed the satirical elements but it’s a very poor man’s Aliens as an action film.

I mad keen to review a movie,

EYES WIDE SHUT, but it must be the directors final cut...... as this was his last touch. Not a fan of all of stanley kubrick s work, but admire the visual genius of the man. I m gonna check out his satire phase with peter sellers.

other movies worth checking out, since we have the time.

Stalker 4/10:(2hrs 41mins) Only interesting thing is the back story to the movie. Mad story behind and in front of the lens where the whole crew died ,from exposure to chemicals while filming in a Soviet Estonian destitute industrial site. Its frustratingly slow moving as the director was compared to early Kubrick. The plot is dark, irrational and clandestine. Some interesting lines but overall disappointing, credit to visuals and cinematography on a limited budget.

Anyone seen "Assassin 33 AD"? Interesting premise; young scientists invent a time travel machine, only to have it co-opted by religious extremists determined to use it to travel back to (you guessed it) 33 AD to prevent the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Looking at the trailer on YT, it's picked quite a few nominations for best screenplay, winning more than 50 screenplay awards. 71% on Rotten Tomatoes, but only 2.5/10 on IMDb. Is it worth taking a peek at?

I watched Django Unchained this morning. Thought the film lost something when Dr. Shultz was killed. It also seemed to lose the effective soundtrack too, part way through the film. Enjoyed it though.

The only part I liked was that shootout, the rest was gash.
