And Trump should know great threads when he sees them.
Bigly! There are people doing great things, a tremendous job, in this thread
He’s “recommending” it because he wants this to be over. COVID is ruining his life. He can’t hold rallies and he can’t play golf. And he has to have meetings and work and shit. A miracle cure is his fantasy, a dream come true. That’s what’s in it for him. He brings it up because his pressers are free association binges and he can’t help it.I’d say that those who have discounted his proposed therapeutics out of hand could be in for a shock. The question I’d ask is what’s in for him to recommend a drug that turns out to be a dud? If he pushes this therapy in the teeth of opposition from the media and it turns out to save American lives it could turn out to be a game changer in the fight against the virus and therefore in his re-election campaign.

And do you think “the media” would “oppose” it if respected medical professionals didn’t?
This is exactly the kind of post that makes me nervous about November 2020.

or perhaps he knows how widely it is being used and as he's not the head of CDC he can speak on the subject freely.
Per your report, 1/3 (37%) of physicians that have treated CV19 patients believe it’s the most effective therapy (although it’s only 23% in the US. By comparison, 51% of US doctors in that survey believe doing “nothing” is more effective and 21% think paracetamol is as effective, if not more effective)https://public-cdn.sermo.com/covid1...ve-i-sermo-covid-19-global-analysis-final.pdf

Not sure what you think you’ve posted GD.
It is one ingredient in a cocktail that medics are using in some instances. The main ingredients are antibiotics that will do far more in assisting the immune system. The drug trump is pushing is an immune suppressant - that may help some but hinder others. I don't think anyone knows the real impact.
The way he talks about - without any regard for facts is just misleading.

I'm not keen at all on them using us in the press conferences. A few days ago it was pointing out our lack of ventilators, last night it was the 17.5 million tests we bought not working, despite the fact we didn't buy them, we had them on order pending successful testing.
I highly doubt we'll publicly challenge those remarks back, but we absolutely should do.

Whitehouse Press secretary has just been sacked.
Considering she's never held a briefing I don't see it as a loss.
Who is she? Why?!
He really is the gift that keeps on giving isn’t he?
