Ffs. For someone never out of this thread, you don’t really hold information that’s been disseminated many times within it do you?

There are several dozen strains of Flu. There is a vaccine for each and in May of each year, the WHO get together and look at which strains are hitting China. They then recommend which vaccine to produce for whichever strain they think will hit the West that Autumn/Winter.

This isn’t the Flu, nor does it have the mutation ability of Flu due to its RNA type and this one vaccine should be all that’s needed.

Why China? Why are they the country that the WHO look at and are they nearly always the cause for these epidemics? If the WHO are that concerned each May when the WHO get together they should just quarantine the whole fucking shithole and stop anything and everything coming out of there.

I'll wager that'll be a fun one next month...
:-(

Are you asking me specifically or are you asking rhetorically?

Flu is a specific term. Not an umbrella term. The above link will explain how this differs and how one vaccine would work on this in comparison to the annual dash to come up with a new Flu vaccine each year.

Any scientist or biologist or epidemiologist that talks about CV19 being seasonal, is talking about how it will come back in the winter months until there is a vaccine. They don’t mean forever.
Where did they or i say forever? If they say seasonal i accept they know what they are talking about

Lol!! Got to admit that was my first thought too when I read it ;-)

When you replied to my post where I stated “seasonal until there’s a vaccine” by telling me that Flu was seasonal as you didn’t understand the difference between the two and their respective abilities to mutate.

You quoted me first, not vice versa.

No,i know full well it is not flu ! Flu has a vaccine and is seasonal was my only general point

Sweden's numbers continue to outstrip their Scandinavian neighbours.

Although I understand there is no exit strategy at the moment, countries who have taken more serious action are doing better.

Flu is only seasonal as it mutates at a ridiculous rate and thus we can’t produce a vaccine for all strains at one time to kill it off and stop transmission by getting its R0 down close to zero.

That’s not the same with CV19 in all likelihood. (As explained in that link)

Is there any reliable data on the age profile of all those who have died from this in the UK? They seem to say every day that the age ranges from say 32-103 for example, but what I can’t find anywhere is how many people in each age group have died from this since outset in the UK.

Is this something they don’t want us to know to keep people locked down and maintaining the rules do you think? If young people see a 30 year old has died for example they may continue staying at home. However, If they see that of the 700 people who have died, only 5 were under the age of 50, then they might not.

My Mrs got a text from the chemist about an hour ago...says there is a shortage of inhalers, obviously she's asthmatic....anyone else get a text?

There is this on the ONS site but it's not particularly specifc.
