It seems to be a very happy piece of timing for Gilead - my impression is that the drug was just about ready for trial anyway.

Cue for some clowns to say the government over-reacted and wasted money boosting capacity.

Of course the excess non-Covid deaths might be other patients who didn't go to hospital (including from care homes) or didn't get IC, and died, plus vacant beds as other operations were cancelled and there are fewer accidents. Too soon to analyse but you'd be callous to look at Italy and Spain and think "let's do nothing and hope it's not like that here".

It's obvious that any policy less than strict lockdown is more risky. People who've been observing our limited lockdown will be less likely to carry the virus to a friend who's done the same than tube passengers visiting other tube passengers or Covidiots who've been partying holding more parties.

A year or more of doing several risk assessments every day.

Watching Ross Kemp last night and how lots of admittance down like car crashes, sports injuries at weekends, drink related fighting etc, I bet stabbing are down in London as well. Got me thinking at how much money is wasted on these people and maybe insurance should pay towards these things in future, and in the case of drinking insurance won’t pay up then you do. The NHS should be used for genuine emergency and treatments (cancer etc) going forward

I only do it so that I can help the company out and take up the inevitable rights issue once it's proven that the drug doesn't work

Yes, recall reading that article which is a very good piece, what I had meant to say was in relation to the booster for the company rather than it being seasonal. Have made a note not to post anything from my pit first thing in the morning in future!
