I re-read part of The Final Days over the weekend, Woodward and Bernstein’s follow-up to All The President’s Men. It’s of course about the last several months of Nixon’s presidency, with an emphasis on a near hour-by-hour recounting of the last few weeks. It makes me physically ill to see staunch Republicans who put their nation before their party and the tide of average Americans who would not buy a lie when confronted with evidence and even Nixon himself succumbing for the good of the nation (even though denying everything) and then realizing this would never, ever, ever, ever happen in this country now.But imagine if they did.

I totally agree with you. Trump scares me though because he does not give a shit and the Democrats are not offering much to get those voters out to vote. Sanders supporters seem to be dismissed as not needed, Biden won't even offer them a crumb.
