I'll put the Swedish model to bed!Lockdown works and the stricter the better. Those pushing the Sweden model. Can we put that to bed please.
185 dead today. Compare Denmark 6, Norway 1.
If the US is going to return to business as usual they are in for a shock.
Question
foreign office say we at not in EU scheme but you (hancock) say we are,who is right? Hancock says we have joined but they are providing no PPE
Allowing people to come into the country and not testing them on arrival, why not?
People can become infected before they get on a long haul flight but test negative getting off the flight,so it is difficult,Transmission is still between people already here
Closing of closing veterans helpline? Will look into it
NHS staff threatened with being punished for speaking out, will you look at this? People should be able to talk about it freely
ONS suggesting death toll higher by 40%,is the plan working? Hancock refutes that figure due to way deaths are recorded, the international comparisons depend on population and other things, learning good and bad from other countries
The plan was to bring the curve down,it has flattened, stop the NHS being overwhelmed has been done, still a vaccine to find but the core plan has worked, still more to do
I have been banging on about it for ages,at least the explanation was half way convincingThey must have seen my post on the political thread last night.
I thought France had halted the trial (as had Brazil)I was about to post this : https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.04.16.20065920v1
I literally just read it.
Tonights press conference should be interesting.
Of course it's only one study and not peer reviewed yet but it's the first data after the initial Chinese and French reports from weeks ago that claimed benefit.
I detect a split in the camp, the foreign office man that said it is clarifing his remarks about now.i believe it was a political decision to do with not being see to be in with the EU,that is for the other thread thoughMy reading of the Hancock / EU procurement issue is that he gave the go ahead to be part of the scheme and then was overruled (maybe by No.10 / Bojo but maybe by the Cabinet Office / Gove).
Hancock has been briefed against by 10 Downing Street so he may well be making it clear that he supported being part of the procurement exercise. The EU procurement exercise hasn’t delivered any PPE yet (according to Hancock) so it’s hard to know whether this will turn out to have any or much significance in terms of tackling the virus.
Do you have a link for france? I thought they abandoned their trial as there was no benefitI was about to post this : https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.04.16.20065920v1

A few countries have already stopped their trials,i did notice the last couple of nights he has not been pushing it like he was,he was very irresponsible

A scene from The Producers has just leapt into my head.I'll put the Swedish model to bed!
Not me. I've had COVID-19 thanks. The only way I'll have the vaccine is if the working immunity test for me comes up -ve.He said, this normally takes years ( funding issues) now it’s months
