Heard a story on MSNBC today about some bloke who died. His daughter said he'd been watching Fox News, and had been led to believe it was safe to carry on as normal. Anyhow, he didn't know anyone who had COVID-19. His daughter said he would do in a couple of weeks or so, without doubt. True to her work he did - himself. He died a few days later.

Ah that is so sad,because trump is the president more americans are going to die that needed to,if only hiliary had won,it would be so much better handled

The guy actually thought it would be a good idea to go on a cruise of all things. All because Fox and Trump were desperately trying to play the virus down in order not to spook the markets.

That was from Monday night. I've checked the transcript.

"But if we didn’t do the moves that we made, you would have had a million, a million and a half, 2 million people dead. So multiply that times 50; you’re talking about — you would have had 10 to 20 to 25 times more people dead than all of the people that we’ve been watching. That’s not acceptable. The 50,000 is not acceptable. It’s so horrible. But can you imagine multiplying that out by 20 or more? It’s not acceptable."

Neither is the maths. (I think his mind was still on the 50/60 thousand dead that he thinks will count as success.)

There's more:

"I mean, if you took a number and cut it half, and half, and in half again, you’d end up at 500,000 people — okay? — if you want to make a very conservative guesstimate. Five hundred thousand people is not acceptable. Is that a correct sort of an analogy?"

Only if the number you took was 4 million!

"But, in this case, if we didn’t do anything, the number wouldn’t be 50 to 60,000. The number would be a million people dead. It would be a million-five, a million-two. Maybe 700,000. It would have been a number in — like that."

He's a random number generator.

And his regular "look at unnamed country (Britain)" comment"

"— there’s one country in particular that decided, 'Let’s wing it. Let’s just keep going.' They are being inundated with death."

It is sad, but I'm convinced that the only thing that will stop Trump from doing what he is doing, is for his actions to cause a cull amongst his electorate.
If he got a backlash from that he would change tact. Anything to win the election.
