All we can do is discuss, link to reputable scientists and bodies and post the facts on numbers and what we are told everyday and people have to form their own opinionshttps://www.healthxchange.sg/heart-lungs/heart-disease/viral-myocarditis-virus-heart
Nothing new again. Scaremongering is getting ridiculous if the virus doesn't kill people the stress and worry will.
Shielding is already in place for those identified as being in the vulnerable groups, I presume this shielding could be extended whilst the virus spreads. I believe this is the policy in Sweden?
Maccies reopening from April 27th I hear.
That's going to upset some on here isn’t it.

Eustice starts by confirming that as of today 669,850 tests for COVID-19 have been carried out in the UK - including 29,058 tests yesterday.
The number of people who tested positive is now 152,840 people - an increase of 4,463 compared to the day before

Think capacity is over 50,000 now.Do we know how close to maximum capacity 29,000 tests are?
Why is stating facts scaremongering?https://www.healthxchange.sg/heart-lungs/heart-disease/viral-myocarditis-virus-heart

Can't remember the exact figure but in the briefings they say capacity far out weighs demand so they have opened the tests up to loads of other key workers, the trouble is the few number of testing stations and people having to go a long way to get to them,it is not for want of people wanting them, the care workers still say they can't get themDo we know how close to maximum capacity 29,000 tests are?
Aren't they rolling out 100 mobiles this week manned by armed forces each capable of over 300 a day going into care homes and workplaces. Can't remember the exact figure but in the briefings they say capacity far out weighs demand so they have opened the tests up to loads of other key workers, the trouble is the few number of testing stations and people having to go a long way to get to them,it is not for want of people wanting them, the care workers still say they can't get them
There is a bigger roll out with the website and home testing kits coming online
I find the whole issue of testing murky, the gov have themselves a target of 100,000 tests a day but have made it difficult to actually get one,i think what they tell us and the reality is somewhat different
Yes they are,a drop in the ocean but it will all help,i don't underestimate the task but I think testing is an area that we haven't handled wellAren't they rolling out 100 mobiles this week manned by armed forces each capable of over 300 a day going into care homes and workplaces.
Not really a drop 100 mobiles doing 300 a day gives us another 30,000 a day on top of the fixed stations, if the fixed get us to 50,000 these mobiles will get us up to 80,000 a day not far off the target.Yes they are,a drop in the ocean but it will all help,i don't underestimate the task but I think testing is an area that we haven't handled well

I have never been the fan of the target, i always get the impression they are more bothered about reaching a number than going about it in a methodical way,i accept that might be a harsh view, from early testing the backed off then had to catch up,anyway every test is good so people know where they standNot really a drop 100 mobiles doing 300 a day gives us another 30,000 a day on top of the fixed stations, if the fixed get us to 50,000 these mobiles will get us up to 80,000 a day not far off the target.
I’ve said from early on in this, weeks ago, that for the explosion of the way this has ripped through care homes that there must be an enormous number of asymptomatic carriers of this virus, and that a relatively high percentage of people have had the virus. Don’t have to be an expert to work some stuff out. That's about right, although it has had limited success. A lot of care homes recording cases even though they went in to lock-down early on. Possibly due to asyptomatic carriers (my expert opinion).
An interesting aside, they tested 59 residents of a care home where the virus had been idetified. None of them had symptoms but 20 of them tested positive for the virus, so even a part of the elderly population are asymptomatic.
Are you sure it’s only one?One doctor has posted something terrible happening to someone's heart and it makes it way to here. That's 1 out of 3 million known cases. We need some perspective here, read back about 5 pages and it was the end of the human race. Sepsis is doing this to people every day and no one gives a shit. Even the 'harmless' common cold can cause strokes and heart attacks.
I'm not trying to downplay the seriousness of this by the way as it is a desperate situation we are currently in, but we are far from looking at the end of the world which you would think reading this thread at times.
