It's so long since I went to the original source I've forgotten. What the boxes in dark grey indicate? Is it partial figures?

Doctors, nurses, carers, porters, cleaners and paramedics are among those who have died after being infected with COVID-19.
Behind each number is the death of a beloved family member and colleague.workers
Tap to read more about 100 of those who have died, and the things people have said about them.

that is before we add in 20 + transport workers, bus drivers and other key workers

Wales overall numbers are horrible. It's about the same population as Bosnia and we have 65 deaths while they are at 1k+.

Are we any clearer on a death rate for Covid?

Not really, but is it that important anymore?

We know it can be a lethal virus, that has an extremely high infection rate and no human has any prior antibodies for it. That's all we really need to know.

There's nothing on his youtube channel about paypal or any other funding sources.

You maybe thinking of his website where you can pay for nursing tutorial videos.

I spotted a PayPal link a few days ago in one of the descriptions. Personally, I don' t have a strong opinion on whether it is right or wrong.

Daily briefings

Today will get daily care home etc numbers as well who test positive

Total tests 818,539

Tests yesterday 52,329

Positive 165,221

Deaths in all settings, positive tests 26,097

(Community deaths 3,811 to date since March)

(Thousands not tested to add to that imo,we will never know)

Flattening of the peak

Dangerous time,restrictions remain,be patient

Second spike would need further lockdown so need to avoid it

Germany are seeing a rise in the transmission rate since lifting some restrictions

So there was actually 765 deaths recorded yesterday?, which probably means we had a few weeks at over 1,000

Its awfull looking at this through numbers, but it really does paint a grim picture. 26,000 is horrific

Part of the problem was well off people from England with second homes in Wales.
They ran off to their 2nd homes in Wales from London and some took the virus with them into small rural communities.
Also, i believe more people are being tested in Wales compared to the other UK countries.

The total tests done yesterday should be 55,152
818,539 (today's total) - 763,387 (yesterday's total)

Also of todays death total 765,
601 are in hospital, 164 are in other care settings.

It also means excess UK deaths (from COVID-19) are tracking at about 20%. Whether all excess deaths (from all causes) remains at 37% will depend on next weeks ONS figures. (Source: ONS)

For reference the all excess deaths percentages for European countries, were: italy +90%, Belgium +60% Spain +51% Netherlands +42%, France +34% and Switzerland +24%for the last reporting periods we have data for. (Source FT).

Depends what shape we're in at the time I suppose. Greece have said they allow tourists from UK by July (I think). Other countries will probably want us to have it more under control, which I hope it would be by July/Aug.

I haven't seen/heard that anywhere but when I'm spending the day with a 3 year old watching Swashbuckle, that is hardly surprising ......

I imagine there would be some milestones the UK(or any country) would have to hit to be allowed in. Air travel for tourism in general is an interesting one, I heard today that some countries are doing 14 day quarantine for people arriving, that is not compatible with a 2 week trip to an all inclusive or a cruise for example. I think business travel will be limited and organisations will try and use the solutions they have been using. This will allow them to significantly reduce costs where possible and minimize the risk of sick employees

Either way, the world will be a very different place for a while yet

THE CORONAVIRUS pandemic means that many summer holidays have been cancelled. Balearic Islands including Ibiza and Majorca could still be open for holidays in August but British holidaymakers are facing a long-term ban from travelling due to the UK's "delayed" lockdown.

I have seen mention of blood tests and that Emirates currently have something similar. Anyway here is the link:

2 weeks behind italy and Spain, 1 week behind France. That's not a month.
There won't be holidays to these places this year.

It will depend on how we are doing nearer the time I guess. As I mentioned, Greece seem keen to have us!! Others will no doubt want to see improvement in our figures before welcoming us in (no doubt that will apply to other countries as well). We might find that by then, we are in a better position that some other countries. It's hard to know at this stage.
