Films that were acclaimed that are actually rubbish

Bird man
The Irish man
The imitation game
The King's speech
American hustle
The big short
The dark knight - "Omg Heath Ledger, is there a more sinister villain.....Oh Tom Hardy as Bane, the most menacing, intimidating villain of all time"

You have about as much taste as a Scouser.

Ok, I am willing to grant Alive and Kicking is pretty awful.

I am willing to watch PTA and give it another chance.

But . . . In no universe is The Breakfast Club better than Clueless or Dazed and Confused. Or Rushmore. You could toss in Fast Times at Ridgemont High or Valley Girl and I would. Even Ferris Bueller.

I just checked with my wife to be sure. “The Breakfast Club is a weak movie” she said. She’s never wrong (at least I’ve never tried to find out). She disagrees on Valley Girl though.
Clueless is alright, but arguably plays up to the cliché's even more?

I love Richard Linklater, I think the first two "Before" movies and Boyhood are masterpieces. But I thought Dazed and Confused was a bit overrated. Just seems like endless jocks beating up geeks.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High isn't fit to lace Ferris or Breakfast Club's boots imo.
