You had an open goal and put it wide ;)as has been said they are counting tests sent and appts made not actual tests done

in two patients, unless I put a link or dictate of the telly it is my opinion
that's fairly caveman like stuff thereWhat a surprise Little Miss Positive try's turning it to bad news.
I do hope the government aren’t basing any strategy they might be following on ‘trust’. Big Pharma telling us they have the answer, often translates into, ‘highly promising until it failed stage 3 clinical trials, although it certainly shores up the share price.
I also do know that thalidomide wasn’t a vaccine but testing the efficacy of anything we are going to inject into us is probably not a bad option, hence the comparison.
Doesn't matter, the target has been hit. Excellent work by the government on this they deserve some credit amongst all the criticism.
Although it was the NHS and not ‘the government’ credit where it’s due. The real question though, is to what end? Without an extensive track and trace option, it’ll all be a bit pointless.Doesn't matter, the target has been hit. How many tests have been carried out in Scotland?Tell the families of the 25,000 dead that it doesn't matter. Why are we congratulating a government on doing their job 2 months late at the cost of human life? Credit for doing their job in the most incompetent, delayed, stuttering fashion possible? I'll give the sycophantic praise a miss here.

I'm fine with them having expectations - issuing a press release saying "we've got something that might work" won't get much response!
I think it's being overstated though, and when that goes to far, it can detract from the positivity if it all falls down later.
Track and trace will come next, no point having track and trace before the capability.Although it was the NHS and not ‘the government’ credit where it’s due. The real question though, is to what end? Without an extensive track and trace option, it’ll all be a bit pointless.
It’s a bit like Pep saying his ambition for the season is to score 100 PL goals. If he concedes 150 it’s all a bit of a futile exercise.

Let’s hope so.Track and trace will come next, no point having track and trace before the capability.
South Korea have done it without a vaccine, so there’s your hope. A vaccine is a Brucie Bonus and we should proceed as if there won’t be one.I would prefer to have my hopes dashed that have no hope at all. If you have no hope then you might as well just give up.
I have absolutely no idea whether Oxford and AstraZeneca can validate their claims. All I know is that these are respected establishments and hardly Trotters Independent Traders.
Does it really matter if they have not got a million doses ready for September? If they came back in September and said that their vaccine is going to work, but it will ot be ready for distribution until June 2021, then fair enough. We will have to alter our lives accordingly. At present we have absolutely nothing to help us in our fight against this virus. Any breakthrough would be fantastic and Oxford feel like they are at the front of the queue.
Hardly their fault that a global pandemic has hit is it? Like the PM said last night not one patient has gone without a bed or ventilator, the NHS has not been overwhelmed. They build multiple hospitals around the country which fortunately haven't been used. There have been mistakes made but it's not like the blueprint on how to handle this is in place to follow. On the whole I think they have done reasonable job and I am not a tory.
Anyone who is interested in how the exit strategy might look here is how Spain are planning to tackle the next few months. I presume any major setbacks and we'll be back to square one. It will also be exactly 6 months off school for kids here!

The tories have been in for over a decade and destroyed the health services and everything to do with planning with austerity, whose fault is itTrue but our long term pandemic planning has been proven to be a heap of shit. That's not this government's fault but dear oh dear.
Such fatalism.
Is it a job well done if they are counting a test as one just sent in the post (irrespective of it being returned?) or direct emails with 'click here' to conservative members? Or is simply manipulation and a point scoring exercise to celebrate this herculean (sic) achievement in 'ramping up?'I was just saying it is a job well done on hitting 100k tests a day which everyone was waiting for them to fail on. Not just NHS by the way, tests are being done at other places as well.
