I am calling BS on the death figures. If you go on the web site and input our post code, DL15, it tells you 2 deaths in Crook & Tow Law. Now I know of 3 people from our estate who have died from the virus. Now those figures may not be huge but multiply this nationally. And that is just people I know of who have passed.

Website says up April 17th maybe thats why ?

By entering your postcode in the map below, you will be able to see how many covid-19 deaths have occurred near you between March 1 and April 17

Next door neighbour, scaffolding then roofers then a bbq got carted off couple of days ago looked in a right state, I knocked on next door to see if all was ok, covid confirmed and in a battle for his life. Ignorant in the extreme but sad.

Is that the same neighbour you were contemplating reporting from a few weeks ago that was having loads of visitors for bbq’s in the back garden?

I’ve just been on worldometer and our daily death figures are again an absolute disgrace relative to other countries , other than the states.

we are doing something badly wrong , policy , treatment , or what we put in death certificates.

it’s not adding up.

Mate, as has been said, everyone is reporting differently and we will only truly be able to judge this via the excess deaths once it’s all finished.

Personally, I think we are being one of the most honest countries, especially based on some articles I’ve read, and I’m pretty sure that we will compare pretty similarly to most of the countries similar to ourselves in the western world.

I've just been out for a walk. The first in 7 weeks. Allowed an hour but had to remain within 1km of home. In essence here in Spain we are doing from today what you in the UK have been doing from day 1 of your lockdown.

That might have something to do with it.

Hope you was within your time slot. :-)

I don’t think we are there are multiple cases of people who are old and have various other illnesses recorded as Covid deaths without being tested.

I know this for a fact my mates dad 90 care home dementia, diabetes been on his last legs for months - sadly died a month or so ago. They said of Covid. He died because he was old and dying he had been ill for months.

The number of people who have died with coronavirus in hospitals, care homes and the wider community in the UK has risen by 621 to 28,131

The number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus is up 4,806 to 182,260.

Meanwhile, the number of people in hospital with COVID-19 is down from 15,111 to 14,695.

Mr Jenrick reiterated that the UK had "passed the peak of the virus" and reassured people that the prime minister would explain "how we will address the second phase" next week

Deputy chief medical officer Dr Jenny Harries said the number of people in hospital had decreased by 13% in the last week and London had come back down to the levels of other regions across the UK
